Pat White carted off field

(Rotoworld) Dolphins QB Pat White was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the Steelers. Analysis: White, who was in for an injured Chad Henne, was trying to run for a first down when he took a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from Ike Taylor. White immediately crumpled to the ground and barely moved. Players from both teams were gathered around White in prayer. The good news is that White was moving his hands. He's been taken to a local hospital.

He's fine. He was with the team on Monday. What pisses me off is that Ike Taylor was flagged for the blatant and totally unnecessary helmet-to-helmet hit and then the refs never called the foul, which killed the Dolphins' drive and probably cost them the game.

Everyone in the room saw this hit and immediately was like "Oh damn!" He's not getting up from that!" Then literally, he wasn't. Good to see he was moving his hands right away though. Then they replayed the hit, and I was like holy crap..it's worse from that angle. It was so loud at my buddy's place and when we heard it, everyone was silent.

All I heard was my wife cry out..."GET THE CART!"

I am glad to hear he's okay.

As for the flag. Yes I agree, it was not intentional and he was not trying to give him a headshot. You can clearly see White was trying to get out of bounds, but got tripped up and it ended up being a head-to-head collision. However, because of this concussion review and how many concussion happened this season alone, I believe the mandate is any shot to the head, whether intentional or not, is going to be flagged and that I agree with. They started this this year in the World Juniors for hockey this year. They want headshots out for the game and it needs to stop. Too many players careers end too soon for that. I was reading in an article about a kid in North York, Ontario that hockey is becoming worse. A kid, 13 yrs old is done playing hockey after 4 concussions. All of which came from head shots. I think poor coaching is to blame.

I think you need to go back and re-read your last sentence that started with "which killed" i'm sure you dont mean to but you sound like the game was more important and lost because P.White got hit and the penalty was not called, the most important thing right now is that he is going to be alright and not paralyzed

Even if the Dolphins had a chance to make the playoffs a players health is more important 10 fold

Actually, I'm completely aware of what I wrote. Don't get me wrong, it's a tragedy this happened, and thank God he's alright, but the team is more important than a single player.

My Thoughts:

I saw it live and have mixed feelings.
Chad Henne, was trying to run for a first down when he took a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from Ike Taylor

I didn't have the impression that Taylor was going for a "Helmet to Helmet". Looked to me like he was going for a helmet to lower part of Whites body and White lowered himself for protection and it wound up being Helmet to Helmet.

I don't care where a guy is aiming, if he is leading with the crown/top of his helmet it should be an automatic ejection and more. If first contact is the facemask, shoulder, etc... and accidental contact ensues after that is a different story. Pittsburg players appear to lead with the head aiming for a lower part of the body and then claim accidental head to head after. Maybe Goodell should make them wear leather helmets. That would put a stop to it
