With only about a month remaining until the beginning of the UFL “Premiere” season, its inaugural players are preparing themselves for training camp. On September 9, the Florida Tuskers and the New York Sentinels will report to Jacksonville, Florida, while the California Redwoods and the Las Vegas Locomotives’ will report to Phoenix, Arizona for physicals. The teams will then move to Orlando and Casa Grande respectivley for camp. The first days of training camp will bring with them many firsts: the first time teammates will meet each other, the first time UFL jerseys will be worn, and the first time the names Tuskers, Sentinels, Redwoods and Locomotives will be more than just words on paper.
This coming week, the New York Sentinels will also hold an open tryout in San Diego, California. Past tryouts have been a huge success, with nearly 1,100 prospective players attending and vying for the chance to make the Florida Tuskers squad. At the conclusion of the Tuskers' workouts, two players were offered contracts while many more are still under consideration. If any of our fans think they have what it takes to play in the UFL “Premiere” League, head over on September 6 at 1:00 p.m. to Lincoln High School in San Diego. The coaches would love to see what you can do.
This week was all about the new players. The Tuskers, Redwoods and Locomotives all announced the signing of more players to their rosters. The Las Vegas Locomotives announced the signing of 18 players, including OG Martin Bibla, CB Wale Dada, and WR Tab Perry. The California Redwoods announced the signing of QB Shane Boyd, along with 10 other players, while the Tuskers announced the addition of 11 players to its team, including past NFL players Koren Robinson and Tatum Bell.
