Now Harvin has requested a trade from the Vikes

News came out yesterday that he had a couple of issues with the Vikes and that he'd skip training camp until they were resolved but who saw this coming? The Vikes are not likely to trade him so the summer of discontent continues to heat up in Viking land.

Something weird is happening. I keep hearing this is not a money issue. I know one thread was posted it was on playing time...but I doubt that is all. To try and now force a trade....something just doesn't add up.

Some sites are saying it's about money while others are saying no it's playing time. You could be right PhiCin in that neither may be the issue. My money says it's about the cash though.

I wonder....if it is the situation.

let me explain.

Harvin is an incredible talent. But he is not all that durable, and...he has the migraine issues.

So, you are on a team with a 2nd year Qb, and an offense that will be run oriented. You have a limited NFL life....and you have issues.

Would you want to stay? If you make the most money by passing?

Not saying this is the issue, but I could see this being part of it.

Sounds to me like there has been a falling out of some sort with the coaching staff. Whatever it is, this is not good. Harvin's value drops like a rock IMO if he misses much of training camp.

The Vikes said several times today and I believe them, that there's no chance they'll trade Harvin. His being at mini-camp gives the two sides a chance to head this off before it gets all out of whack.

Percy Harvin's unhappiness in Minnesota is not contract related. Harvin essentially tweeted confirmation of PFT's report on Wednesday evening. "I said I have issues to be worked out," Harvin wrote. "Money not at all being the problem. I've done everything asked and more." Harvin may be referring to his on-field role in Bill Musgrave's offense. He only played 58.4 percent of the Vikings' snaps in 2011, and was on the sideline for many red-zone packages.

Add to all of this now a story floating around that no way Minny wants to renegotiate his contract since he is injury prone, and they don't feel he will stay healthy. Why in the heck would you let that out, even if it is true, when you earlier post that you won't trade him since he is key to your offense.

I just don't get some of the NFL teams execs some days.:rolleyes:
