No One Would Take This....Right?

Browsing through one of my league's rosters this morning, looking, really, to either land an upgrade to LT at RB3 or find another WR.

Stumbled across a team who I think I can work something out with...maybe.

His roster: Fred Jackson, Brandon Jacobs, Michael Turner, Chester Taylor are his running backs. His receivers are Bernard Berrian, Larry Fitzgerald, Devery Henderson, Hakeem Nicks, Devin Thomas, Wes Welker.

My roster: Running backs are Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones, LT. Wide receivers are Pierre Garcon, Derrick Mason, Steve Smith-Giants, and Reggie Wayne.

What I want to offer this guy is Thomas Jones and Derrick Mason in exchange for Larry Fitzgerald. He only has one running back with a starting job, and while Jones isn't a starter, he should put up better numbers than Jacobs from the RB2 spot. Mason would obviously be a decline from Fitz, but Mason is still worthy of a starting job on fantasy teams.

Tell me guys, I'm crazy, right? There's no way is going to part with Fitzgerald.

If I'm him, I wouldn't make the deal. Basically he'd be giving up his only true #1 WR (although he does have 2 nice #2 WR), for a #2 RB (which he has), and a #3 WR (which, he already has 2 #2WRs).

If I'm this guy, my starting lineup looks better without the trade:

Michael Turner, Brandon Jacobs
Larry Fitz, Hakeem Nicks, Wes Welker

vs

Michael Turner, Thomas Jones
Hakeem Nicks, Wes Welker, Derrick Mason

lol, no Danny, he's not going to take it. May lose a little credibility with him by offering it as well. That is a junk offer IMO.

I wouldn't take it. Why do you have Wayne and Garcon? Why not offer him Garcon and Jones, Garcon is ranked 15-20 spots higher than Mason and should put up great numbers.

That would be due to the fact that I wasn't there for this draft, my team was selected off of a prerank list I composed, but it would seem that whomever was selecting my picks put no thought.

This is the league in which I had Antonio Bryant drafted for me as well, and no back up QB!!! :thud:

Kris, Miller, here's the pitch I threw in with my trade proposal...

Wow, you have NO running backs. Other than Turner, you've got Jacobs, a number 2 on a pass first team, Jackson, a number 2 on a team that will maybe win 2 games, and Taylor. You're hurting sir. Thomas Jones is a number 2 on a run first team, guy will bang in more points this year than Jackson, Jacobs and Taylor...combined. You'll lose Fitz, but you'll have Mason to replace him with. Fitz is a number one receiver on a team without a QB, Mason is a number one on a team with an up and coming QB, he is also a guy that who hasn't had less than 70 receptions or 1,000 yards in the last three seasons. It will hurt to lose Fitz, I'm sure, but it is an improvement for your team where you need it most. Without another playable RB, no way you're making the playoffs.

For the 5 years that we've done this league, this guy has always been fairly inactive. Part of me is hoping he's gullible, part of me is hoping he accidentally selects "confirm" instead of "reject".

Worth a shot, but it's still a very bad offer ;)

Hope he takes it, it would be great for your team. A high second round talent for a couple 8+ rd picks.
