Hakeem Nicks Could Start Week #1 --
Tue Jul 7, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
FanHouse's Dan Graziano believes New York Giants first round draft pick WR Hakeem Nicks will start over WR Domenik Hixon on opening day. WR Steve Smith will be the Giants other starter. Hixon filled in as a starter last year in WR Plaxico Burress' absence. But Nicks impressed the coaching staff during the off-season program with his hands and his attitude. Their scouting report on him told them he was a leader among the receivers at Carolina, and Giants HC Tom Coughlin said he showed that ability during meetings, nimbly and eagerly discussing not only his own role in various plays but the positioning and assignments of the other receivers as well.

Bernard Scott and Percy Harvins are the two rookie grab that I am really excited about.

Jul 06, 2009 05:35 PM CDT Leonard favorite for backup duty
The News
Brian Leonard appears to be the favorite for the backup running back role in Cincinnati this season, according to the Bengals' official site.
Our View
Still, Leonard's role as the No. 2 man behind Cedric Benson is far from cemented with Kenny Watson, DeDe Dorsey and Bernard Scott fighting for the role as well. Given that the Bengals' running back spot is not the most attractive position to be a part of in the first place, it doesn't seem like any of these guys are worth drafting, although it looks like Leonard is the man to go with if you must choose a handcuff to Benson

I'm glad I nabbed him in my dynasty draft. I knew he would be starting.

I had also drafted H.Nicks in my dynasty league and was told by the some other owners that he was a "Reach" etc....

I watched lots of game film via "Youtube" on Crab, Maclin, and others and Nicks just stood out as a true WR badass over the others.

Looks i might get the last laugh. :biglaugh:

While not surprised, I am impressed that this has been determined prior to actual Training Camp.

That is why I am surprised. I expected Nicks to move up the roster, whether during the preseason or after the actual season started, but I thought Hixon would be able to hold on longer than this as Nicks makes the transition. Would not be surprised if there ends up being some jumping back and forth on this the next couple months as the coaches try to get the most out of all of their WRs.

I like Steve Smith as a potential breakout guy this year, but I'm not getting real excited yet about the #2 WR on one of the most run-first teams in the league with an average QB.

Kevin Boss will be the 2nd highest scoring fantasy pass-catcher on this team in 2009, I reckon.

If Hixon started over Nicks id lmfao, Everytime they tried to use Hixon like they did Burress he was constantly making mistakes!!! Sure he had some decent games but he also had some drops on deep balls and he isn't a plax type WR whe nyou got a QB that isnt very accurate!!!! Nicks will go get any ball in his window. The guy is a monster and the Giants got a steal, Nice pick Philly passing on Nicks for Maclin. Not knocking the guy just think Nicks is the better WR.
