NFL Rookie of the Year!

Guess it comes down to how much you value winning. Dalton has been ICE COLD! He's led his team from nowhere to the brink of the playoffs. Newton has been fantasy gold, but in the NFL he's only led his team to 6 wins.

At the end of the day i think it is as close as close can be. I agree with Gizzel, if you could look at it as a combe with Green, it's a different story. Homer in me says Dalton is right there, but the truth is this always seems to be a numbers award and Newton cobined for 34 TD's this year! As much as I'd love to argue, I think Newton is the choice, but no brainer many make it out to be.

Newton by a landslide here too...not as many wins as Dalton but that is a direct reflection of the fact that his teams defense is horrible. How many games has the Panthers lost going into the 4th qtr with a lead. You can't blame Newton for the defense being inept.

Newton and it's really not close. He operated with no real running game besides himself and a past-his-prime wideout in Smith who Newton himself revitalized. He also improved Carolina's record by 4 games despite having a terrible defense.
My 2nd place vote actually goes to Aldon Smith of the 49ers. He came within 1 of breaking the rookie sack record and helped carry the D late in the year after Willis got hurt.
However, the fact that Dalton emerged with A.J. to lead Cincy into the wild card should absolutely not be glossed over. Those 2 have awesome chemistry which will last for the next decade.
Honorable mentions for me would be Julio Jones (54, 959, 8 TDs), Torrey Smith (50, 841, 7 TD) and Von Miller (64 tackles, 11.5 sacks)

I agree here. Cam had the greatest rookie QB season ever. Hands down winner.

Aldon Smith is an absolute beast and at barely 21 years old, unlimited future. Niners took some grief on draft day for taking him "too early", but turned out to be a good call. I can see him breaking the sack record in the near future. Can speed rush or overpower. Unreal ability. Nice for the Niners to have a great pass rusher again........

I'm sorry, but no running game in a backfield with Stewart and Williams?
AND Steve Smith is past his prime?

Isn't there just a chance those three players had something to do with Cam's success instead of Cam's success in spite of those three?

Cincy's Green is the rookie of the year for me.

No way it's Green. He had a great season, fine. 1K yards is solid, but Cam had 35 TDs ..... No one played as well as he did.

Plus, look at last year. Mike Williams, while he didn't pull off quite a thousand yards, he had 11 TDs and 65 Rec (same as AJ), what I would consider a better season than AJ had, and he still didn't win it. In fact, Suh wouldn't have won it if Cam was in his same rookie class. I think Von Miller had a better rookie season than Suh did, meaning that I think Von Miller had a more impressive season than AJ, and Von is my 3rd pick for the award.

I'd rank them Cam, Aldon, Von, AJ, Julio, Torrey.

Well it looks like my wisdom has rubbed off on here with everybody agreeing that Cam is the winner here.

Suprised nobody voted for my boy Gabbert. LOL
