100 percent agree with old Roger here. Aiding the runner should be banned period. Enough rules already favor the offense. Hate when the runner is stopped and then 900 pounds of offensive lineman push him forward.

Aiding the runner was illegal until 2005 and even then you didn’t see it much until the last 5 years or so. Terrible

Reports out that multiple teams have reached out to Patriots on availability of QB Joe Milton

Bengals EVP Katie Blackburn has stated Hendrickson is in limbo, evidently he hasn't gotten contract offers from other teams he liked, and Bengals aren't willing to pay him what he wants either. Evidently no trade offers have really come to Bengals either.

I am of two minds here.
First, I am tired of seeing OL push and pull a RB or WR or TE 4-5 yards when defenses can't do that.
However, in the case of the actual Tush push, my ONLY issue is having the TE or RB behind the QB helping push him forward. Otherwise, if the QB is doing all the work its just a QB sneak.

The key is, there IS a rule in place that states you cannot pull a player with the ball, just adjust to include push that player and then actually enforce it and you fix most of the issues.

But it's the "push" part of the tush push that is the issue. Yeah, no push, no problem 👍

outside of the 4th and 1 scenario, the push happens all the time. WR catches a pass and a group converges to tackle, but also some blockers to push the pile sometimes. Is this also not allowed under this rule? Not being able to stop Philly from doing it because they are better than others at it does not seem like a good justification.

I will have to look it up, but yes, there are rules in place to not allow players to push other players forward. I know it also calls out not pulling them, and off the top of my head, I can think of at least three TDs this year where the ball carrier was PULLED by OL to get into the endzone

Here is what I found, evidently they took the rule out

The NFL rule that prohibits pushing or pulling a ball carrier, which was in place until 2004, is currently not in effect, and the league is currently debating whether to reinstate it.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Historical Context:
Before 2005, the NFL had a rule (NFL rule 12.1.1) that penalized teams for pushing or pulling their ball carrier forward, but this rule was removed due to difficulties in officiating.
