NFL considering 56 man roster

(Rotoworld) The NFL is considering expanding 53-man rosters to 56 in order to compensate for lost time during the lockout. Analysis: The game-day roster would go from 45 to 48. Draft picks and undrafted free agents won't have nearly as much time to learn systems without OTAs or rookie camps, so roster expansion would allow teams to keep the players' rights instead of having to give up on them because they aren't contributing right away.

or lose them from the practice squad either . . . 3 move up from there and hopefully it doesn't effect the number of practice squad players either . . . if they go to more games in the season, this really needs to happen.

I dont think so honestly. There really isnt support for it among the fans unless thats changed lately.

Is this a start to expanding to 18 games? :dunno:

That was the first thing I thought of.

It makes sense to do this even with the current 16 game schedule. I get frustrated when I see teams going into a season with 4 cornerbacks on the roster.
