This is going to be a sad thread this week and the top will be filled with some of the best. My best wishes to all that will be named here.

UGH! More to come, sadly...

  • NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (meniscus) will miss 2-4 weeks.
Gallup will undergo arthroscopic surgery to trim his meniscus. The good news is that there's reportedly no structural damage besides the meniscus tear, so the return is expected to be quick. Look for Devin Smith to take the majority of Gallup's outside snaps. Smith demonstrated some of the elite field-stretching ability that made him a second-round pick back in 2015 last week, catching all three of his targets for 74 yards and a touchdown. Amari Cooper will continue to work as the Cowboys' undisputed No. 1 pass-game target, while Randall Cobb will stick to his slot role.

Brees getting second opinion on thumb, so no surgery yet
Taco Charlton DL for Dallas is requesting his release
Per Rudolph in PIT - Big Ben started having elbow issues post the week 1 game with NE. So he was not surprised on the fact he would be missing time

  • NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports LeSean McCoy's (ankle) MRI showed no significant damage.
He has a "shot" to play in Sunday's Week 3 showdown against the Ravens.

  • NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Cam Newton's (foot) status for Week 3 is "up in the air."
Newton reportedly re-aggravated the same left foot he initially injured in the preseason and hasn't recovered nearly a week later. He's technically listed as day-to-day, but that seems like the best-case scenario at this point. Newton spent all of Tuesday's practice rehabbing. Heading into Week 3 on the wrong side of questionable, the Panthers will likely turn to either Kyle Allen or rookie Will Grier against the Cardinals.
