Speaking Thursday, Dalvin Cook (shoulder) said he is going through his "normal preparation" for Week 16 against the Packers.

Coach Mike Zimmer has tried to leave open the possibility that Cook will play, while ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported it's unlikely. "I’m going through my normal routine of getting ready for Monday night, and we’re going to see how it goes," Cook said. "I’ve been in the training room every day starting my mornings early and just grinding and trying to get my shoulder (ready) so I can be available." Cook also said this is actually a new injury and not an aggravation. They are positive comments but stop well short of guaranteeing Cook will play. This ultimately feels like the Vikings trying to keep the Packers guessing. The tea leaves suggest Cook will be out, Alexander Mattison is on the wrong side of questionable, and Mike Boone will start.
