NFL 2017, Week 9 In or Out and other injury notes

Brock Osweiler will start for the Broncos.

Switching gears and taking on the Browns for this Brock tidbit. Osweiler will pocket $895,588 for the game this weekend paid to him by the BROWNS! The Browns who have had 426 different starting QB's in my lifetime. The Browns who can't operate a fax machine. If Can't never Could then call the Browns Dr. Can't.

Colts placed Andrew Luck (shoulder surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The Colts' disingenuous assertion that Luck had a chance to return in 2017 has finally been put to rest. It remains unclear if Luck ever truly had a shot at playing this season. There's ample evidence to suggest "no." The official move comes four days after FOX's Jay Glazer reported Luck was "still in pain," and "seeking further opinions." It's an ominous development seeing as it's been nearly 10 months since Luck went under the knife. Even for serious shoulder surgery, this is an unusually long recovery for a football player. That being said, there's little reason to believe Luck won't be ready for the 2018 season. He isn't scheduled for further surgery. Perhaps older than many people realize, Luck turns 29 next September. It's a genuine shame how much of Luck's prime has been wasted on awful 53-man rosters.

Dede Westbrook will not be activated from injured reserve this week. Apparently the Jaguars want to give him another week of practice before he plays in a live NFL game again.

He is expected to be activated for next week's game
