Hue Jackson has been fired as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Add Oakland to the shoppers list.

The rumor flying around the Raiders is current Greenbay Packer LB coach Winston Moss could be in the running for the vacant HC job.

This move is surprising. You mortgage your future on Jackson's guy......then dump Jackson??? Interesting....

Supposedly, it is now Fisher interviewing Rams and Dolphins. He will make the final choice.

Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Mike Mularkey as HC

Not to sure about this hire. Really thought Jax would have thrown the bank at a really big name to be the new coach. Not knowing alot about Mularkey so i'm going to do some searching on him. Wasn't he the HC for Buffalo years back? And if i do remember right , he wasn't that impressive, but it was Buffalo. So since the def HC didn't work they have decided to get a more offensive minded guy. On the fence with this hiring.

From what i'm hearing from the rumors is Fisher will take the Rams over Miami mainly because they have a QB already. And i have to think also comes into play is the division each one is in. And that there makes the most sense to me.

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis said he is in favor of the team hiring Mike Mularkey as head coach. Mularkey will bring a fresh offensive perspective to the team. "Everybody was ready for it to be done," Lewis said. "For me, personally as an offensive guy, I feel like it's a good hire. We're going to get new schemes, a new offense and a fresh start. We were anxious to know what direction we were going to go in, ready to move on and start our new quest for a championship."

LOL i was just reading that a few minutes ago. Seems he has a 14-18 record as HC. Still on the fence on this hiring. Understand on the trying to get the offense from being less dormant this coming year. One thing going for him is he does have experience with young QBs and making them much better. He did it in Atlanta and hopefully here. Only time will tell i guess, and the april draft will tell alot.

To me this moves the Jags to the list of teams ready willing and able...to move to L.A.
A questionable hire at best, the new ownership will endure two or three years to honor the out-going owner's wishes.

Could be a shrewd move by Shahid, buying in to the NFL with "straight cash homey" and then cry economic hardship for a move to L.A.

Lol, I posted this and then Mularkey praises Mercedes as the best blocking TE he has ever seen. :)

This is taking awhile, Fisher has probably had great offers from both for money. I wonder if it boils down to how much each team is willing to commit to making moves to build a successful team. Will Miami go after say Peyton Manning if he is available? does he have to go with Bradford or can he draft his own QB? Probably down to intangibles as to where he goes at this point.

ESPN 1500 Twin Cities believes Eagles DC Juan Castillo could wind up in Minnesota if Steve Spagnuolo replaces him on Andy Reid's staff. Castillo and Vikings coach Leslie Frazier have a close relationship going back to their stint together with Philly from 1999-2002. There was reportedly mutual interest in Castillo joining Frazier's staff last year before he was surprisingly promoted. Mike Singletary's first season with the Vikes "raised serious red flags at nearly every level of the organization," which suggests he won't be promoted. Holdover Fred Pagac is already clearing out his office.

The Oakland Raiders could be interested in interviewing Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, defensive coordinator Dom Capers and inside linebackers coach Winston Moss for their head coaching position once the Packers season is over.

This blurb points out that while it seems to be taking awhile for some of these Head Coaching jobs to be filled it could be that many of the candidates for some of these jobs are still fighting in the Playoffs. Recent trends in hiring coaches have shown that hiring successful OCs and DCs is a popular trend. You have to wonder how much wholesale raiding of coaching staffs will be going on after the Playoff teams are done.

I wonder if he is holding out to see if the Indy job opens up? :dunno: That would be a great spot to end up with either Manning or Luck at Qb. Team isn't that far away from being solid again. However, with St. Louis and Bradford and Jackson...you have tools there as well.
