From now until he signs with another team, if he signs with another team, I'll be posting the Jamarcus news, for what it is or is not worth, right here on this thread. I'm using too much bandwidth trying to cover his travels and rumored travels with a new thread weekly. So check in here to see what Chubby is up to in the future...:shake:

Alas it appears that Miller and other Bengal fans can sleep a little better tonight.

rotoworld,

Free agent JaMarcus Russell will train in Arizona in an effort to get back into the National Football League.

According to Yahoo Sports, Russell "apparently" is back up to 300 pounds and plans to drop at least 25 before attempting to latch on with a new team. He does not intend to try the CFL or UFL. "His mechanics are even completely screwed up," a source close to Russell said. "There’s stuff they go over in high school that he hasn’t worked on the past three years."

Down to 300, hail I hope a strong wind doesn't blow him away. He's becoming a regular lite weight top water bait.

The best thing to ever happen to Jamarcus Russell was being cut by the Raiders.

After all, "The Silver and Black" have become the recent standard bearer in the NFL of ineptitude. No matter. Since making the Super Bowl in 2002, Oakland has just 29 wins, stacked up against 83 losses. There is not a worse team in the NFL during that stretch. It wasn't just Russell's fault - of the three quarterbacks to take the majority of snaps for the "Silver & Black" last season, not one had a quarterback rating that would be top 20 in the league.

Scout.com: Russell's Big Break?

Lordy mercy, Raider fans won't like this article not one bit.

"Its An Outrage"
This self proclaimed QB guru Martinez sounds like he may be dabbling with the crack pipe.
If he thinks the Fat Ass is the best QB out of college in the last couple years including Sam Bradford he must be blind.

The only way Chubby Russell will make a team happy is to not contact them any time soon.

(KFFL)The Oakland Raiders have filed a grievance against free-agent QB JaMarcus Russell (Raiders) seeking repayment of $9.55 million, reports Jason Cole, of Yahoo! Sports. The grievance is based on the contention by the team that the contract was changed at one point during his three-year stint with the Raiders and that he is not allowed to keep all of the money he collected prior to being released May 7. Part of Russell's guaranteed $32 million was originally in the form of salary advances for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 season. A portion of those salaries is in question, according to the grievance.

I think the Raiders are wasting their time here. They need to wash their hands of this bad choice and move on.

rotoworld,
Profootballtalk.com reports JaMarcus Russell has had discussions with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks.

A signing is not yet imminent. Russell will hold out for most of the summer, hoping for a backup job in the NFL. If no team steps up, he'll then consider joining Ahman Green in the Nighthawks' backfield. Russell may even win the starting job considering Omaha's quarterback position is currently vacant.

UFL? is that new? If its not the NFL, NCAA, USFL (i liked that league, esp my Jacksonville Bulls) or Arena football, i'm thinking its just another poor attempt to compete with the NFL and wont last long. Still vagually remember Vince Mcmahons attampt on a league and he has alot of money to get it going but it still failed. And how about the female bikini league? Had alot of hype but never heard anything about it, except some pay per veiw during super bowl half time i think.

Not sure how long it's been around, but if I remember correctly, Daunte Culpepper is the QB for the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Also, the XFL was McMahon's league, and that shit was hilarious!

Daunte has to be older than Favre by now, isnt he? Ok thats 2 teams mentioned, how many teams are there and when does it start up ? Never watched the XFL but i do like the Arena league play. It was like old school street ball with pads. LOL.

(RotoWire) The Jets may be interested in Russell, the New York Post reports. Analysis: Now that Russell has flamed out with the Raiders, he could be low-risk, high-reward backup project for his next team, for a fraction of what he cost Oakland. The Jets are apparently simply in kicking-the-tires mode here, as the report goes on to add that there's a better chance that Russell will end up somewhere like Arizona or Minnesota.
