MJD - The next step or more of the same?

This is what fantasy owners have been waiting for, MJD is finally THE MAN in Jax.....with Taylor in NE the show seems to be all MJD. So what does this mean from a fantasy perspective? MJD is already a solid top 10 RB, so will more carries and less competiton mean that MJD is ready to take his game to the Elite level? Or will it just be more of the same for MJD? Or do you even see this as a negative as you feel he may buckle under the pressure of beig THE MAN?

Where do you lean on MJD this season?

I would be surprised and disappointed if Jennings did not work himself into the equation.

What little I've heard played up Jones taking on a more active role as well. Not sure if that will be as a traditional FB or also an increase in carries.

MJD, I think, will continue to do well but I am not banking on a huge increase of production just because Freddie is gone.

Lately, Fred Taylor hadn't been much of a factor so it's hard to imagine MJD's output being significantly more than it is now. I do really like how he's a compact bowling ball of muscle and bone and absolutely feel he can stand up to the beating a starting running back is subjected to.

Nice Observations, CC

Jennings on the plate. Along with Jones who rarely sees work but has performed well when called upon. I expect a bump but not what most seem to think will happen.

I see Jennings as more of a short yardage guy, but that is an area MJD does well in as well. This guy was thought of to be a higher pick, any idea why he dropped like a rock? I currently don't feel he is a real threat to many MJD carries.....he should get some looks, but does anyone think he'll get more than 4-6 a game?

It would be in MJDs best interest if someone did give him a breather every game. I wouldn't want to see him toting the rock 25 times a game.

That would be quite the increase over last season....rushes and receptions combined he averaged 15.6 touches a game....I can see it going up, but they need to manage the increase as well. They need to keep him to around 15 carries a game (240 for the season). Add 3-4 rec a week and you have 18-19 touches a week. Sounds like a nice balance.

With that, maybe they are forced to get Jennings or Jones involved more. Do they have any other backs in camp?

Chauncey Washington and Alvin Pearman.

Uhhhh who??
Chauncey Washington - 2008 7th rd pick out of USC
Alvin Pearman - 2005 5th rd pick out of Virginia

Don't know much about either. Washington is out of a big time program and is 5'11, 224. Jennings is 6'1, 232 and was a 7th rounder this year out of Liberty. Washington has speed to burn, ran a 4.35 at USC's pro day & the combine last year. Jennings is more of a bruiser but has questionable speed.

Many like Jennings, but keep your eye on Washington in camp and preseason, he may be one of the super deep sleepers.

It seems to me that Chauncey, like Miller says here, is worth keeping an eye on. I find it hard to believe there isn't something wrong upstairs with Washington.

So far as MJD, perhaps he learned a lesson on focus last year. And that should be a lesson for all, as well.

I think MJD is going to see a significant bump in touches, and see him as a top 3 RB in PPR. Jones,Washington, and Jennings may see some touches but I dont think they will be in more of a back up/change of pace role and not be a serious risk to re establishing a RBBC label in Jax. As for why Jennings dropped....I would say playing for a small school vs weak competition didnt help, but like many others i didnt think he would last beyond rd 4
