Leshoure was expected to serve as a power back and short-yardage complement to starter Jahvid Best. Now the second-round pick is facing a full year of rehab after suffering one of the most severe injuries an athlete can have. With only Maurice Morris and Aaron Brown left as backups pending a possible free agent addition or trade, Best's projected touches get a nice boost. He could also even see some goal-line work.

Okay folks, watch the moves, as Best is not a solid option alone all season. Wonder if there won't be some movement here by Detroit soon.......

Perhaps Houston will be able to move Steve Slaton? People have mentioned they've wanted to get a trade for him.

I was otc in another league when this broke and I almost grabbed Ricky thinking he might be the best FA complement to Best. Then of course he went to BAL. I think Slaton is too much like what they already have in DET. Not sure who else is out there.

Choice, and Thomas Jones come to mind as expendble to their teams and semi valuable to the Lions. The lions still have maurice morris though.

F*ck!!

Ricky Williams and Jason Snelling off the market. Maurice Morris has a broken hand. Aaron Brown has shown nothing, and Best is too little to handle a full workload.

This aint going to go good.

I feel for the Detroit fans.

Lions are doing all the right things then get kicked in the nuts at every turn.

When Stafford goes down, they'll be right where they were last year.

Kevin Smith. If healthy (dramatic pause), he's so much better than Morris as a 3-down back. And he's already proven it in Detroit and probably won't cost very much to re-sign.

Well one guys already gimped down, another will with too much work, so though I see your point on Smith, I doubt signing another gimp would lead to anything but 3 backs on IR by Thanskgiving.

Quite honestly, with Snelling and Ricky already signed, this was the first guy to pop into my head. Has never really had a chance to prove himself, and with Best there, he can do so on a split. I also hear rumblings that Choice may be available out of Dallas...that too could be a great fit.

Decent signings at this point in the season.


Id have a hard time believing Choice would be available with 2/3rds of the Cowboys 3 deep at the position injured.
