After months of holding out, wide receiver Michael Crabtree has agreed to a contract with the San Francisco 49ers, league sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Crabtree will get a six-year deal that he can void to five years if he meets undefined performance clauses, a league source told ESPN's Michael Smith.
The 22-year-old Crabtree is expected to report to the team's training facility Wednesday.

Don't get too excited here if you are in redraft leagues. Crabtree is essentially 2 1/2 months behind and he is a rookie. Temper expectations, but it is good to see him get a deal done and put this behind him.

In a keeper league where picking him up would only cost you a 14th round choice to keep next year do you think he'd be worth grabbing Miller?

Just me, but I think he gets traded. Now that he is signed he can be traded. I thought NYJ would be the target, but now they have Edwards....not sure now.

But I don't think he stays with the 49ers...not with Singletary there. Just my opinion though.

They've been successful so far but...they have Bruce at wide and that's it. You don't think they'll at least see what he's got in the tank before they put him up on craigslist? Bruce has been steady and might be able to mentor him into the fold...or not...but I think they try things out.

It looks like someone has gotten to him saying that if he doesn't get into camp this year his value in next year's draft will be quite a bit lower. He'll never get as good a deal as they offered initially.

Perhaps this means he'll have to actually work for his money now. :runaround:

It's about time though. While I would have enjoyed watching him screw up his own future, this needed to end. And I won't say that the 49ers "need" him, but its a step in the right direction to say the least.

I see the chances of them trading Crabtree as less than 1% at this point....

Crab will fall in line much like Mike got Vernon Davis to. In 2 years you won't even remember that Crab was a hold out.

With the 49ers playing some good football without the Crabster, does anyone really think he's going to see much playing time.

He better tow the line or Singletary will be all over his huge ego like a cheap suit.

Crab nailed the 49ers with this deal. He ended up getting $2 million more in guarenteed money and hasnt had to do anything....

After seeing his press conference, I don't think he's gonna be a diva really. We'll see how bad he wants to work. Between Singletary and Bruce, he's got a good core of mature support to get broken in with.

Good deal by both sides. I'm somewhat disturbed by the comment that they'd like to see Crabs screw up his life, who honestly wants to see a human being screw themselves over? This is a simple case of bad advise gone overboard, which has now been corrected.

After some reading last night, I think you are right here. They had to sign him to trade him, or lose his rights...as the deadline for trading drafted players had passed.

However, I am not so sure Crabtree can take what Singletary WILL dish out. The deal signed is very cap friendly per say. But it would still be a cap hit to do it. However, if they go cap free next year...................................................................................................................:cya:

I'm not sure who you were talking to AD.

I was wondering about your league

I went through all my leagues, Keeper and Dynasty to see if I could pick him up. He was gone (had never been released) in all of them. Fantasy wise I don't see him making any impact at all this year. I was hoping that he'd be worth starting next year
