Rumor going around Dolfan-land is that this was done because the Broncos were looking to add Moore after they traded Orton. The rumor further goes that Miami's just backing off a couple days to give the Broncos time to consider whether they want to eat all of Orton's $9 million cap when they fully intend to give Tebow the reigns.
I like to think of it as the Fins holding four aces and going all in during a poker game while the Broncos are holding a pair. The Broncos have the larger stack and they're inclined to call as a matter of honor, but if they do they're screwed.
I wasn't speaking of Matt Moore, specifically. The Broncos either have to give Orton an extension (which he has flatly refused), trade him, or cut him. Before they inked McGahee the Broncos were already 8 million over the Aug 4 cap. The Fins signing a guy the Broncos wanted as a backup adds incentive for the Broncos to come down on their trade demands. Basically the Fins have the Broncos bent over the table and it's up to the Broncos to decide whether they want it lubed or not.
Lol...nice
