Reveived a tweet from PFT apprently Leinart was benched suddenly and rumor is because a trade is in the works to send him to Seattle.

It could be he was benched because he sucks and people are assuming a trade is in the works. But never know it's just a rumor.

He was one of Pete's boys, and carrol likely has a year or two grace period to get this going. Matt could wait behind another vet and try to learn some more. Whitehurst didn't ligh the world on fire this preseason.

boy, i hope they do. waste a 3rd rounder on charlie whitehurst, then the first game week 1, taylor mays launches himself into carrol and leinart on the sidelines, conveniently missing the tackle

Makes sence but i have to wonder. Does Pete really have that kinda pull in Arizona already? How many years has it been now with Matt on the roster and not improving? And not starting and really not even good enough to be a back up QB. He might be more successful in Arena football or even the new UFL which is new so they wont be expecting much and picking up Matt would be exactly that. Who else does Arizona have on roster now as QB?

Pete Carroll proposed a trade on MFL to Ken Whisenhunt:

Cardinals Give: Matt Leinart, QB
Seahawks Give: Matt Hasselbeck, QB

Notes: This gives you an old QB who can hit the broad side of a barn. I get Matt back here where I can throw enough hookers and booze at him to reignite his competitive fire.

i think seattle needs more olinemen more than they need to worry about a qb that let everybody get into his head . . . lol

Maybe a change will help Leinert and he gets a fresh start to becoming a good QB. And Arizona gets Hasselbeck in trade, seems like a no brainer.

Leinart needs a short controlled passing game. He has a noodle arm and can't hit the long pass for diddly poop. So a true WC offense would be solid for him. That being said, no way will this trade happen. Seattle just gave up picks for Whitehurst and they are committed to Hasselbeck this year.

Arizona is just plain screwed this year. ALL of Arizona. :xpuke:

A no brainer as in so stupid it will never happen.

Carroll is trying to win now. He already paid steep for a young QB. Hasselbeck is the Seahawks only prayer to win now.

He may feel Hass wont hold up for two seasons while he grooms Whitehurst, and 2011 draft picks may not be worth that much.

I could see him shuttling out the rest of Leinarts deal and sending Hass away.

Hass has been having a great camp. He is also a fan favorite. Trade him and not only do you lose, you piss off fans.

If the Seahawks can get a Leinart for a super cheap price so he can be the #3 QB, I could see that. But trading Hasselbeck to a division rival when the goal is to win right now? Makes no sense. Plus Hasselbeck is worth more than that.

I figured it would be for Whitehurst if anyone. He didn't light it up this preseason either, and both might could use the change of scenary.

I've read 2 or 3 articles this morning saying that Leinhart is likely to be cut before the regular season. I'm sure they'd be willing to deal him if someone would offer them any thing at all. The QB situation plain sux in the dessert and as you said long ago RC, Fitz's numbers will suffer.
