Matt Leinart in danger

Bringing in St. Pierre and telling him that he can compete for the #2 job provides St. Pierre motivation to actually pay attention in training camp, and makes sure the fire is lit under Leinart.

So i can take this as it will be a make it or break it year for Lienart then. Would that be safe to say?

Might be a make or break year for Leinart, might simply be complete chaos in Arizona.

The Cardinals have to fight off the "losing Super Bowl team jinx". Then, if they can fight that off, they have to fight off the 49ers, who seem to be on the rebound. After that, there is the Seahawks, who were down due to injuries, and then the Rams, who are due for a comeback.

Gonna be a tough season for the Cardinals to deal with, and any sort of QB controversy could effectively sink them by November if they aren't careful.

Interesting thought there. By all reality, Cardinals should win the division this coming season, next season will be doubtful, for the reasons you have stated. It would be nice to see that a more competitive division. Good point on the chance of rebounding after last years loss in the SB. I don't know why, but i 'd like to see the 'niners win the division next year.

I think his pedigree alone will keep him in work for another couple years.

I do see trade in his future. He is entering the 4th year of a 6 year, $51 million deal.

The deal had $14 million guarenteed and averages out to about $6.75 million a year. Right now, trade. 2010....entering the 5th year....a cut is possible, especially since it is the uncapped year and the money wont hurt a potential suitor.

Ok, so who do you think he would go to or better yet what team would be interested in him? Minnesota? Their offense seems to parallel USC. Or maybe a reunion tour with New Orleans as a back up to Brees. Leinart/Bush are used to each other. The Titans i think are doubtful even though Lendell is there and i have no clue how they look on a back up QB.

Well who is in the market for a lazy QB?

Minny has John David Booty, who I still see as the heir to the throne.

Tennessee wouldnt be a good fit and I see them moving Young and going for one of the chosen in 2010 if Collins holds up.

New Orleans is a horrible move. Thats like putting an attempting to recover alcoholic alone on an island full of alcohol.

C'mon Leinart in New Orleans is spectacular. Imagine the entertainment value of Leinart during Mardi Gras. He sucks, he doesn't have the work ethic. He has some talent, but the NFL is full of guys with talent who never even get a chance. Leinart at least had a shot and he wasn't prepared for it. BTW, talking of USC busts, I just want to throw one more out there. We talk about Megatron being the new freak in the WR spot. Remember when that was going to be MIKE WILLIAMS.

Sarge, That N.O. comment was funny. This Leinart situation could really bring up an interesting debate of where he might land next unless he steps up and proves himself an asset.

Here's an interesting thought. You own a team, any team, and you need a QB for a backup and you only have two choices. You get too choose between Leinart and Vick. Who do you take?

Keep in mind St.Pierre was a fixture backup QB for the Stillers. More than likely the old ball coach brought him in because he is familiar and he wants to ensure Lienart has his head on straight.

I think we all see the light at the end of Warner's tunnel is a freight train. Wizzy wants his #2 ready through competition to take over.

I take Michael Vick. He actually has done something in this league.

Really? Not worried about the public nightmare this could cause ? You'd really have to have a really good PR group.

With that being said, i am on the fence with this one. I haven't seen Leinart play since college and Vicks been out of the game for 2 yrs now.

Leinart hasnt wanted to play football since college.

Im not worried about PR anything with Vick. So your going to have to some dog nazis protest. Who REALLY cares what PETA thinks? The head of the Humane Society is backing Vicks recovery. Vick can actually DO things for your offense. Leinart can just drink all your beer.

*For the record, the Sarge is not condoning dog fighting. Im simply against the nuts who will throw blood on you for eating a fat steak instead of steamed veggies.

If Vick can still play, your right. That has yet to be seen and it still seems no team wants him anywhere near their facility. GB is the only one i have heard that seems to be keeping him in mind.

I think Sarge's point is that at least there's a chance you get something out of Vick. You know you're getting nothing out of Leinart. If the choice is one of those two, you take someone who might help you vs. someone you know won't.

It would NEVER happen, but Id like to see Houston take a look at him. Please dont leave your season in the hands of Dan Orlovsky
