Sources said that former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach would be the leading candidate to replace Friedgen if he is forced into retirement, with former Washington coach Tyrone Willingham and current New Mexico coach Mike Locksley also candidates for the job.

So if they can't get Leach, Maryland is going to kill their football program? Unbelievable. If there is any truth to the rumors of Willingham or Locksley, the Maryland boosters need to unite and dump their AD, and fast.

Unless you are intent on killing your football program, you would never, ever consider either of these two. Willingham isn't even competent enough to be an assistant coach. Maryland needs to fire their AD, and fast if there is any truth to the rumors.

Maryland already said he's not coming back next year to coach. Don't know why he has a 74-50 record there. Not to bad really. Now if they can bring in offensive minded Leach, at least they'll be fun to watch playing in their shoot outs.
