Marshawn Lynch's impact this year

Bills RB Lynch appeals three-game suspension

Not sure I understand what he is appealing when he has plead guilty to the charge. I had lowered him in my rankings due to the suspension thinking it was a done deal.

What is the chances of him winning the appeal and getting no or a shorter suspension?

How much should this bump him up in the rankings if successful?

For every Lynch he has a Henry who got suspended on a bs case that was unfounded or the star caps incident.

What would the basis be for a reduction? It can't really be considered a bs charge if he has plead guilty can it? If there is no reason to do so why would Goodell consider it? He wants to be viewed as the tough new head cop doesn't he (at least against players).

Lynch was a player I was not overly excited about so the suspension was a good reason to pretty much take the approach of letting someone else take him but now I need to rethink that approach.

Bad mistake by Lynch. I hope Goodell adds to it.

he was barely hand slapped in the hit and run case...then goes and does this and wants a reprieve?

I think it stays three...I hope it increases.

I don't think there has ever been a situation in which an appeal results in an increase in the sentence....I have a feeling that is not an option for the them to consider during the appeals process. They already handed down the punishment, not it's just a matter of if they want to Marshall him or not. Not too many people, including myself, thought Marshall would get any reduction last year and it was dropped to a game, so who knows.

My guess is it stays at 3.

If you can get Lynch a little lower and snag Fred Jackson late, you may have a nice combo there at a reduced price.

Or an rbbc headache. At least the overall team improvement should help one/both of them value-wise.

I doubt it will be reduced because he has had multiple incidents now. Can't see goddell reducing this one....now if it was first offender maybe but this doesn't qualify for that.

And I think Fred Jackson will be more effective than Lynch this year. Probably won't get more playing time but when he is in he will be more productive.

It had never crossed my mind that it would be reduced until I saw that he appealed.

I guess I am not as familiar with Jackson as I have not jumped on his bandwagon yet. Definitely a team to watch this preseason with the changes being made.

I really can't see it being reduced either, it will probably stay at three games.
Does anyone think Dominic Rhodes has any value at all, or do you guys think he may not even make the team after Jackson just signed that extension?

I don't remember paying any attention to himlast year - Rhodes appeared to have done about the same last year as when he left Indy the 1st time.

Considering he really just got healthy while in Oakland I could see him still having enough in the tank to be a legit. contributor this year. That said, if Jackson makes any improvement I could see him making Rhodes the odd man out

Food for thought here....they signed Jackson to a 4 year deal. Notice please that at no point have they worked for an extension for Lynch who is going into his third year of his rookie contract. I find it interesting to sign a back up for long term.....and not the starter.
