Now the news is he reported to camp????
If his problem was not a serious one dont you all think the Eagles would be a little more forth coming with what the illness really is and would be less secretive ??
It's not sounding good for Maclin
Yep if it is a major illness, it falls under Hippawell let's just wait and see what it is.
btw andy etc. canNOT say what it is, even if they know, unless maclin says they can. it's against the law
Jeremy Maclin of Philadelphia Eagles doesn't have cancer, cleared to return to team - ESPNPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has been deemed healthy and cleared to start returning to football activities following a frightening offseason ailment, team trainer Rick Burkholder said Wednesday.
Burkholder said the Eagles will wait seven to 10 days before Maclin can practice, in order to make sure he is properly conditioned and at a proper playing weight. According to sources familiar with his medical review, Maclin showed up to Eagles training camp with rapid weight loss, a lack of enegry, swollen lymph nodes and a low hemoglobin blood count. The third-year wideout underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy in St. Louis to examine his abdomen, a bone marrow test and also had biopsy of his lymph nodes that was negative.
"That's first and foremost, I want everyone to know I'm fine, I'm healthy," Maclin told FoxSports.com on Wednesday. "I was tested for everything and every single test came back negative. I don't have mono, I don't have AIDS, leukemia, all the things people were guessing on, there was nothing. I was being tested for lymphoma and thank God everything has come back negative.
"I wanted my privacy on this until I had answers. I don't like to talk unless I have all the answers about what I'm talking about. It was frustrating to hear all the rumors about me. It wasn't until this morning that I finally got my final answer and thankfully I'm healthy and ready to return to football."
Maclin was cleared after his final test, one for life-threatening diseases including cancer and leukemia, came back negative Wednesday, the sources said.
Maclin said the entire scare was caused by a simple virus."It was all caused by an inflammatory virus, something that just runs its course through your body or you can treat with medicine,'' Maclin told FoxSports.com. "I didn't need medicine. It's just something I had to deal with."
Maclin's hemoglobin count was 10 when he reported compared to a normal level of 14, the sources said. That is often a sign of anemia, a disease in which one's body does not receive an ample supply of oxygen through red blood cells. Other abnormalities can develop if the hemoglobin count is left untreated.
The diagnostic laparoscopy -- a surgical procedure that allowed doctors to visually examine his abdominal region -- did not reveal any cancerous tumors, the sources said. The procedure in St. Louis was done late last week and it was monitored by his surrogate father, Dr. Jeff Parres, a urologist who practices in the area, according to sources.
When he was initially sidelined in camp, Maclin told reporters that he lost as much as 15 pounds when he suffered from "mono-like" symptoms in February and March, but mononucleosis was never definitively diagnosed.
