I wouldn't be surprised to see a press release soon announcing a 2-4 year contract worth about $4M/year (all guaranteed).

Perfect situation, even if Favre doesn't come back (although he may if this goes down). Fills the Chester Taylor role perfectly, and they receive about the best possible mentor you could want for Peterson.

For the record....for the offense....I would have thought Westbrook was a good fit for change of pace for Peterson. He would be a huge dynamic on third down.....assuming he plays again.

I would think LT2 would want more carries.

You don't think so? I'm kind of under the impression that LT wants a ring. If that means giving up carries to grab $1M a year, I think he'd do it. On top of that, who's to say he wont get his fair share? I also believe that AP needs to slow his role a bit. Not to take anything away from the guy but his hard running scares the hell out of me. Perhaps to increase his durability, they can drop some of his carries and hand some to LT.

I'm just thinking that way in the sense of his mindset. He has been the lead back in the NFL for so long, it can't be easy for him to transition to a back up role. But I remember reading somewhere that he wanted to be a mentor to a young running back. So he might be ready for the transition after all.

The Star Tribune reports free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson is expected to visit with the Vikings on Thursday, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, and if an agreement on playing time and money can be reached, he could be a Viking shortly thereafter. Tomlinson, who will turn 31 on June 23, has been identified as the Vikings' top choice to take over the third-down role that RB Chester Taylor held until he signed with the Chicago Bears last week. Tomlinson was let go by the Chargers after nine seasons late last month and this will be his first known visit. The Vikings’ hope would be that by employing Tomlinson in a limited role, it would keep him fresh and thus make him a dangerous 1-2 punch with RB Adrian Peterson. Tomlinson also might be able to help Peterson improve his game in various facets, including holding onto the football.

LT set this up a month ago when he said he wanted to help a young back take it to the next level. That is when I tied him to the Vikes!
