Leon Washington making progress

rotoworld,
Leon Washington (compound leg fracture) began cutting on his surgically repaired leg during the past two weeks.

Washington says he feels "great" and has joined T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Deion Branch for post-practice agility drills. Coach Pete Carroll concedes that it's "going to take some time" before he knows whether Washington is back to pre-injury form. He's still tentatively expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

rotoworld,
Coach Pete Carroll indicated that Leon Washington (compound leg fracture) is ahead of schedule in his rehab and will be ready for the start of training camp in late July.

The Seahawks will be careful with Washington early in camp, but it's a good sign that he'll avoid the training camp PUP list. We have a good read on Washington's chances of returning to pre-injury form until preseason action. As long as he doesn't have a setback, he should handle return duties starting in Week 1. With Justin Forsett capable of playing on passing downs, Washington's offensive role may be scaled back early in the season.

rotoworld,
Leon Washington (compound leg fracture) participated in the Seahawks' first practice of training camp Saturday, as expected.

So far so good. Washington passed all of his tests this offseason and remains on track to be ready for Week 1. We'll be tracking his progress throughout training camp and preseason action to see if he's regained his quickness and explosiveness. Along with Justin Forsett and Julius Jones, he's in the mix for tailback puzzle.

I see Forsett as the clear cut #1 by season's end with Washington being the COP back.

Julius Jones will be odd man out.

Seattle Seahawks RB Leon Washington (leg) practiced for the second consecutive day without restrictions Saturday, Aug. 7, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times. He did not feel any pain. Washington said he feels like he is about 95 percent healthy, and while he said it feels good he wasn't ready to say he is back to normal yet.
