Leftwich traded to Steelers

Skedar and I have already decided on a drinking game for the Steelers vs Bucs game (Lefty vs Freeman). 1 shot per incompletion, 2 shots per interception.

Did I read that they extended his contract?

Yep...

The Pittsburgh Steelers have extended the contract of quarterback Byron Leftwich according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
This comes one day after the Steelers acquired Leftwich in a trade with the Bucs. Leftwich had one year left on the contract he signed last year with Tampa Bay. His contract now runs through the 2011 season.

I smell a gentleman's bet..

Hopefully Dixon is starting this game as opposed to Lefty. Although I have nothing negative to say about Byron because he played well any time he was called upon for us. Dixon would be the rich man's Josh Johnson, by the way, and ya'll know I like both.

Over/Under strong safety wager: More tackles.. Polamalu vs. Piscatelli's veins.

This could get ugly. LOL

I have been rooting for Dixon - hopefully he makes the most of this opportunity considering how rare they are in the NFL.

Looks like the Steelers have low expections this year. Picking up lefty shows ben the door. Never have cared for byron, to me he's just one step better than Russell from the Raiders. They'd been better off just picking up a qb in the draft and fine tune him to take over for Dixon. Its going to be a long season being a Steelers fan.

Hey are you all forgetting about Charlie Batch? From what I remember he is the #2 QB and has done a pretty good job when needed. (and not injured)

Batch is getting up there in age and from what I have heard Tomlin likes Dixon a lot. I expect Batch to be the odd man out if BB returns. Lefty will start the first 4-6 games, Dixon will be the b/u. If Lefty struggles Dixon will get his shot.
