Kevin Kolb accepts the blame

After watching the tape of his performance in Kansas City, Kevin Kolb remained a harsh critic. The Packers come to Lincoln Financial Field in less than two weeks. By then, the Eagles' first-team offense needs to get fixed, particularly the passing game. The Eagles starters are not expected to play Thursday against the Jets. Kolb this preseason did not throw a touchdown and completed only 53 percent of his passes. It's not what the first-year starter envisioned last month when training camp started. "Obviously it wasn't as sharp as I wanted and this is the time to work on it," he said. Kolb believes the offense is close.

Better get it close in a hurry.....

Kolb and the Philly offense will be fine. Get DJax and Kolb back on the field and the fireworks will continue.

that and the O-line hasn't been that spectacular. Add to that Maclin and Jackson have been in and out of the starting lineup due to injuries. I think once all get on the field, it will be fine.

Kolb will round out the top 5 with Rogers, Brees, Manning and Brady.

A top five expectation for Kolb is absurd. Let's not get carried away with him due to Rodger's numbers his first season as starter. He has some weapons and some skills but it still is very difficult to post 25+ TDS and 4000+ yds as a first year starter. I expect those are the numbers you need to meet to make top five (probably even higher), and I decrease Kolb's expectations by a solid 20% from those standards.

I like the guy but can't believe how high he has been going in drafts so am forced to pass on him.

I own Kevin Kolb in 5 out of 6 leagues this year

Needless to say, I've invested a lot in him and the Eagles' passing attack. I think that the offensive fantasy production will be there even if the regular game wins aren't this year. A top 5 QB ranking is not out of the question, since he'll be surrounded by explosive talent.

I hear some of the same people doubting Kolb turn around and take DeSean Jackson, Maclin, Celek.... if you have no faith in Kolb why take those others so early? Jamaal Jackson is rumored to make it back for the start of the season, which would give Kolb the boost he needs. The Eagles are historically bad in preseason (and that third game was just a mess of injuries / penalties) so I'm going to put more stock into what I've seen Kolb do in the regular season + the upside of his weapons.

Oh and Al Harris isn't going to play in the opener. That makes a suspect Green Bay secondary a big weakness.

I agree... just saying I feel Romo and Schaub will meet and exceed these numbers and still not seeing Kolb doing so. If we want to talk a top 8 finish I am all ears. Top five I am not buying into....

I cannot let Kevin Kolb accepts all the blame, the O-line hasn't been anywhere never spectacular. Since the lost of center Jamaal Jackson, the line has been in disarray!
The wide receivers have looked good at times, but their performance’s depends on the QB, and without the blocking Kolb & Vick have not looked that convincing.
Surprising that the running backs are showing to be a bright spot the offence, I just wonder if that translate into more running plays during the season?
