Training Camp, Preseason, a 17 week NFL schedule followed by a run to the Superbowl. That's a lot of hard work for a second year NFL-er. Heck for anyone in the NFL. So most players take a month or so off to R & R. Not the QB for the 49ers. Nine days, the kid took a nine day break from football activities and then got busy with it prepairing for his first full season as the starting QB. Dedicated? You betcha. He's at the CES Performance Center in Hawtlanta working out with "the linemen." His activities there include running, lifting and "tethered swimming." What QB has more upside then this youg man? Besides the elite who would you rather have? Me, I've got him in my keeper league for a 17th round draft choice. I'm a lucky man.

"E" et al, I was wrong about him being named the starter. I still don't like the way Alex Smith was handled but I'm not foolish enough to say that it wasn't the right call. Congratulations to the 9ers and their fans. As long as this young man doesn't get killed he's going to supply many thrills for the Bay area.

Yeah, this kid is going to be something special. Amazing raw talent, intelligence, dedication to being the best player he can be and a coach that will help him accomplish all that. Sky is the limit. The anti Jamacus Russell.

As far as the way the Alex Smith situation was handled, what else could have they done? They made a football decision to move forward with the player they thought gave them the best chance to win it all. Not like they humiliated Smith. He just lost his job to a better player. Were they supposed to let him keep his job because they didn't want to hurt his feelings? I don't get that viewpoint. If anything, they should have made the move at the start of the season, like Seattle did. It was impressive watching Wilson develop with each game. Had Kaepernick had 8 more starts, he might have been that much better and been able to see the open receivers that he missed on the last few plays. Now that view isn't reasonable as that wasn't going to happen since Smith was entrenched as the starter going into the season, but more reasonable than saying they handled the Smith situation poorly.

Anyway, great kid who is going to be a great player.

Loved the move this season......loved him when the drafted him afew years back......loved the way he played this year.......and he actually made the Green Bay loss to them in the Playoffs very easy for me to take!

I can see your point easily on Denver because I too was happy to see John win it even though I was a Packer fan in the game.
