Jets coach Rex Ryan gave third-round RB Shonn Greene's minicamp work a mixed review.

Said Ryan: "I love the way guys bounce off of him, unfortunately, some of the passes bounce off him."

Greene's response: "I just don't catch very well."

As long as Leon Washington is around, Greene doesn't figure to be targeted in the passing game anyway.

Certainly something the heir apparent to Thomas Jones better learn to do quick is catch passes.

While the quote is entertaining, it's shock value is lessened quite a bit because you have to remember that Shonn Green wasn't known for being a receiver in college. Even with the addition of Green, Leon Washington will still be the primary pass-catching back for the Jets.

If Ryan utilizes the same system as they had in Baltimore, I don't remember seeing alot of passes to the RB in the flat anyway. It was basically run McGahee/Rice/McClain twice, then look for Heap or Mason to move the chains on 3rd and long.

I'd feel a little better about this situation if Greene at least said something along the lines of working hard to improve that part of his game.

I'm hoping that Leon/Greene will be used much the way the Giants used Tiki/Jacobs a few years ago. TJones is unlikely to be around beyond 09 IMO.

Pretty sad for Baltimore since I think the Jets recievers aren't great. I do like Clowney a lot as a sleeper and Stuckey looks like a terrific slot wr but I'd like for the Jets to have a true #1. Cotch is an ideal 2 IMO

As a TJ owner and a recent draftee of Mr Green I sure hope he turns out to be something in NY. Especially since I missed on Mcoy and I'm also a Westy Owner.

He could turn into a short yardage TD vulture bull this year. Lot just depends on what happens in NY now till mid camp.

I'd safely consider Cotchery as my lead dog if I'm not running an offense where there's 40 passes/game flying around.

The rest of that crew are basically #3 and #4 types. Keller's probably the 2nd most talented receiver they have. They also still have Brad Smith on their roster, I think. If Rex ever decides to copy Miami with some Wildcat action, he'd be better than most at running it.
