Special delivery. Could you sign for this please:

A package containing 2.5 pounds of California marijuana was allegedly delivered to Jerome Simpson's home Tuesday, according to authorities.
Simpson and OL Anthony Collins were allegedly present when Aleen Smith, 27, accepted the package at Simpson's Kentucky home. Both Bengals were detained, but no one was arrested. During a search of the home, authorities found six more pounds of marijuana along with "packaging materials, scales and smoking devices." An update on possible prosecution is expected later today.

Yeah just heard about this for local radio...this is bad, very, very bad. Especially if Collins is involved as well, as he is the key backup OT for Bengals. Down two Wrs soon now....ouch for rookie Qb.

Fire, are you forgetting how our justice(and you can take "justice" right out of this sentence) system works:tongue:. You are innocent if you have a good and/or sneaky lawyer to represent you. You can be "proven" guilty, but at the end of the day you can still go home innocent.

Never have more correct words been written.

This is why I recommend "lawyering up" as soon as they get you into the station, pretty much. See thread long since past...

And speaking of which, I read somewhere today that he voluntarily let them search his place. See how just that little move; refusing a search when asked but instead of saying "sure, ok I guess so", saying "I think I should talk to my attorney first" and then calling any attorney out of the phone book) could have helped him until he got a lawyer? If he would have even at that moment lawyered up rather than "feeling totally busted" since they had him redhanded with the package he could have stopped a more serious crime charge; the 6 lbs. they found. They only had 2.5 lbs. to that point. Wouldn't a professional NFL player already have an attorney?
