For the 2nd straight season they go on season ending losing streaks and lose out on the playoffs. Last year it was their last 4 games, this year their last 3. The last 3 games this season they played listless without any type of desire to win. You'd think with their own destiny and playing Indy, you'd come out pumped up and secure a playoff spot. Instead they came out like they just wanted the off season to come. Then lose to Washington and Houston to finish out the season. Yes they had some key injuries but thats not an excuse. Every team had injuries. Difference is good teams work past that and still play competitive, not just give up like they seem to have the last 3 games. Question is, Whats next for this team? Does Del Rio stay or do the Weavers finally say its enough and get rid of him? I say he's gone or should be. Draft a QB to sit behind Gerrard til he's ready to play and keep working on beefing up that D. They need secondary help badley. First and foremost get rid of Del Rio.

It's always a tough call with coaches. Both the Jags and Texans seems to come close but in that division the Colts have been a tough nut to crack. This year the Colts were the most vunerable as we ever have seen them and yet they jumped the hurdle at the last second to do it again. Should Del Rio be gone, if the right coaching opportunity develops sure.

I'm not sure if Del Rio should be gone but leaning towards it. He has problems motivating them when it matters most. And yes Indy was very vulnerable this year, not the team of past years it seemed. Wondering if Manning is hitting the end of his career or just an off year for them. Dont see them getting past NE, Baltimore or even Pittsburgh in the playoffs if/when they would have to play any of them. Of course if things would have worked for Jax, they would be hosting Baltimore this coming weekend and that would have been ugly.

All looks solid for Del Rio

Kind of sounds like Del Rio is sticking around, based on this tiny bit of info.

Weaver did a press conference after his talk with Del Rio. Basically he knows fans are calling for DRs head but Weavers saying to trust him, he knows what he's doing. Said he didn't get where he is today but making more bad desicions then good. Said he also expects to be in the playoffs next year and if it doesn't happen then changes need to be made. Kind of the way he put it. it sounds like if Del Rio has another season like the past two then he will be gone. Didnt realize it but it will be his 9th season as coach on a 10 year contract. Really thinking the buy out clause for Weaver on DR was too much too handle and maybe their is some kind of clause in there that will make it cheaper next season.

I don't see the Jags as a riser in the division though. MJD's surgery, Garrards inconsistency as a NFL Qb, the teams questionable ability to stop anybody, and the fact that all the other squads in their division have more firepower, leads me to believe this is a franchise moving downward. Jennings in't MJD, Mercedes is a stud, and Thomas is a difference maker, but without a steady QB, too much pressure will fall on the defense.

Toatally agree with the Gerrard comments, they need to pick up a QB in the draft to learn the system and be ready to take over. This draft is full of QBs so its a good time now. They're missing something to make the playoffs just can't pin point exactly what it is. Too many what ifs here and coulda beens. Seems like either its one player missing or the right coaching staff.

Sometimes its the coach but 99% of the time its the players. Its just easier to fire a coach and usually does little if the players can win for one they can win for any grow up and play ball!!

If JAx can bring in Mcnabb and sign a rookie QB out of the draft for the future, pick up some secondary help, then they have a chance to win the division next year. Gerrard is good but not starter good. The division isnt what it used to be with Indy aging, Tennessee in diabocles, and nobody really knows whats going on in Houston.

Good possibility of that happening. Thought they had a chance to do it this season. Put the right players in Jax and maybe they sneak into the playoffs. Indys rein of terror is coming to an end. Just need some team to step up.

2011 Jacksonville Jaguars Football Schedule

Looking at Jaxs 2011 schedule and they can easily go 3-13 maybe get to 5-11 and with some major luck maybe 7 wins. Cincinnati, Cleveland and Carolina are the only ones i expect them to win. Maybe sweep Tennessee twice for 5 wins. TB, Pitt, Atl, Balt are loses for sure. Looks like Del Rio is in his final year unless he can pull a few suprise "Ws" out of his ass.

After seeing Jax 2011 schedule and unless they get active in FA and get some good productive players out of the draft, then yes Houston has the upper hand to finally knock off Indy for division champ.
