You make it sound like wanting to win a non-consequence game is selfish.

If it involves changing the playing field for those engaged in a legitimate competition then yes, it is.

I'm not trying to screw up your season, I'm trying to win a game.

It's OK to mess up people's fantasy playoffs as long as that's not the reason you messed them up?

"Violates the very core of the spirit of competition"? Here I was thinking that stepping aside and not messing with other people's playoff matches (whether you intend to or not that is what you are doing) was good sportsmanship and common sense.

Plus how do you prove that an eliminated team is deliberately messing with the playoff race? I've seen examples where an eliminated team tried to help a friend who was still competing for real... and heard about another scenario where an eliminated team tried to screw over someone who was still competing by adding the players at the positions he needed. It's silly to even create this problem.
