How did I do? Awesome, right?

14 teams, PPR scoring. This league goes QB crazy! We saw 7 go in the 1st round. I picked third.

1.03 Tom Brady
2.12 Mendenhall
3.03 Legarrett Blount
4.12 OchoCinco
5.03 Mario Manningham
6.12 Kenny Britt
7.03 Marshawn Lynch
8.12 Mike Tolbert
9.03 Aaron Hernandez
10.12 Robert Meachum
11.03 Braylon Edwards
12.12 Garrett Hartley
13.03 Lance Kendricks
14.12 Cleveland D

I feel like I found really great value with almost every pick. Clearly, Im heavy on the New England offense with Brady, Ocho, and Hernandez, but if you're gonna go heavy on 1 team, they're not a bad choice IMO.

Starters would be:
QB: Brady
RB: Mendenhall
WR: Ocho
WR: Manningham
FLEX: Blount
TE: Hernandez
K: Hartley
DEF: Cleveland (Week 1 matchup with Cincy, will likely be dropped after that)
Bench: Britt, Lynch, Tolbert, Meachum, Braylon, Kendricks

Thoughts?

What's the QB scoring? I think your WRs are pretty weak for a PPR league. I would have made sure that they were 80-100 catch guys, and likely gotten 3 of them for the flex position. QB could have waited, IMO.

That and anything outside of Brady (and maybe Welker) on a Pat offense can't be trusted with the way Billy B runs things...he could find some dude on the street and make him relevant somehow.

20 yds = 1 Pt. 4 Pt TDs. INT= -1PT

QB is a dangerous spot to wait on. Here is where they went.
1.01 Vick, 1.02 Rodgers, 1.03 Brady, 1.06 Brees, 1.09 Rivers, 1.10 Schuab, 1.11 Romo, 2.06 Peyton (same owner who took Rivers), 4.11 Freeman, 4.14 Big Ben (same owner who has Vick), 5.04 Stafford, 5.07 Eli, 5.13 Ryan, 5.14 Flacco, 7.08 Bradford, 7.12 Cutler, 8.02 Sanchez, 8.03 Colt McCoy, 8.08 Orton. I think you get the picture.

You would have been so far ahead of the curve if you just ignored QB and picked one up much later. In a draft like that like them kill themselves on QBs while you are stockpiling points.

You should have waited. You could have gotten 2 stud WRs that would have gotten you 100 catches and 1200+ yards and 12 TDs each, 2 starting RBs, and then in the 5th gone Matt Ryan, Stafford, or Eli. Then, in like the 9th round followed up with Kevin Kolb.

Your team would have been much better if you did that, IMO.

I agree with most here. You have a great QB, you have solid Rbs. But you Wr core sucks. Period. Ocho may not even make it as a Patriot this year...and he was one of your top options.

Well it just so happens that I am CRAZY HIGH on Ocho and think that he's borderline top 10 WR this year.

I also love Mario Manningham taking over the Steve Smith role. I think that's a guy who will have a high volume of receptions.

I know all about taking 2 stud WRs in the 1st 2 rounds. Never works for me. I took Randy Moss and Brandon Marshall last year and got buried. Never again

Im also a firm believer on waiting on a QB you could have had the #1 RB and snagged a decent qb later . Man I thought my draft went cooky this year but the only qb to go in the first was Vick.

There isn't much holding Ocho back. It's going to take him some time to truly get comfortable in that offense since his offseason was so short in NE. Not much doubt that he's going to be good. I'm not sure that was ever really a question for us. We were all just more concerned because your WR core could have been elite with your draft positions. A lot better than just good.

What are the good reasons why Ocho can't bust lose and punch everyone in the balls this year?

I think this calls for a new thread...

My critique is that was your number one receiver...the number three receiver on the Pats' depth chart. I firmly believe you could have waited several more rounds and would have still been able to grab him. I have no issue with anyone being big on any particular player for any particular year, but you reached, and you did it at a point in the draft that, if he doesn't perform to your expectations, is certain to hurt your team.

Because of the Ocho reach, you're left without a WR1, a move that could haunt you in a PPR format.
