Have Gun, Will Travel

Bucs DE Da'Quan Bowers was arrested at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Monday after trying to get a loaded gun through security.

Shades of Shaun Rogers here. Rogers, busted in 2010 for the same stunt, used the "I forgot that it was in my bag excuse" and dodged suspension by the NFL. You can expect Bowers to try the same tatic. But really, come on people. How do you forget a gun is in your "carry on bag?" In the trunk of your car I can see. Maybe even in a suitcase that you keep packed for quick trips but in your carry on bag? A .40 caliber isn't a lightweigt hand gun. Anyway Coach Greg Schiano is expected to be less than pleased.

The more that I think about this the more it chaps my rear-end. What dam good is a gun to you if you don't even know where it is? At the very least this screams that Bowers isn't responsible enough to own a weapon. Gun ownership 101: Know the location of your weapon. Geez!

Lol, which way is my gun?...which way is my gun?

Like telling a mugger, you wouldn't get away with this if I knew where my gun is.

If he'd of grew up Listening the Johnny Cash he'd have been familiar with his song "Don't take your guns to town." I guess he could blame his mom for not playing it for him as a lad.

Bucs DE Da'Quan Bowers reportedly informed airport personnel about the loaded gun in his bag himself.
In other words, Bowers did not try to sneak the gun through security. (Tampa Bay Times)

Okay so he didn't try to sneak the gun onto the plane but doesn't this show that he obviously knew the weapon was there? So maybe now he's an idiot?

The lawyer for Bucs DE Da'Quan Bowers expects him to be "fully exonerated" in his airport gun case.

I wonder if this is the same guy that represented Plaxico Burress in New York which has the toughest gun laws that one can imagine.
