Garrard to be cut

Shades of Leftwich from a few years ago... JAX cutting their starting QB right before the season opener :wow:

And McCown will get the start not Gabbert.

Outlaws be on the lookout for Garrard to show up in Carolina, Seattle, or where?

Miami wouldn't surprise me due to need and proximity.

Or SF simply based on need. Bring Garrard in on a two year contract (realistically a one year, then plan on cutting) to bridge to the rook since Alex Smith blows.

Then there's Indy who could use a QB not yet on social security. Dang there's a long list of teams that might could use a not to good QB.

I thought Carolina when I read this. He would be great for Cam to learn from.

Switch out Cincy for Carolina and Dalton for Cam and I believe you may be on to something.. Rumor has it the Bengals have much cap space at the QB position.

(I even swing trades in my posts)

Miami.

Carolina I think is really commited to Cam and seeing what he can do.

Bet Indy is kicking themselves for overpaying for Kerry Collins :biglaugh: I would much rather have Gabbard.

Cincy might look here for more experienced back up. Washington if they have lost faith in Beck?

Lots of teams with needs at QB. After some reading this morning I agree with J Scot that the 49ers is a likely landing spot.

Anyone else think JAX delayed cutting Garrard as long as they could to make sure he couldn't be scooped up by IND and prepared for week 1 incase Manning didn't go. Not that a division rival would do something like that ;)

Not suprised they cut him after watching him play and reading more into it. Seems that he was blaming everybody else on the team for his mishaps. Constantly yelling at his WR/O line for dropped passes and missed blocks. Well it really showed on two occassions. 1 was the last preseason game were he just took a serious beating. Hit on almost every play. Second was the tell tell sign something was happening. The team chose team capts and he wasnt one of them. Lewis and MJD got offensive capts. Not suprised they let him , just how they did it. He looked horrible in preseason but dont think thats his fault intirely. But bottom line i think its more of a move of Del Rio getting desperate for a winning season as a coach. This is it for him if thye dont make the playoff, and i project them as a 6 win team, 7 wins at best. And reading today, sports channel says a 3 win season is in the forcast. And we still need to sell 7k tickets for our home opener against rival Titans to avoid a black out. Sad days here in Jacksonville football.

The 49ers have declined to say if they have an interest in him or not meaning of course that they do. After your Alex Smith stinks it up this Sunday they'll be calling.
