G-Men WR H.Nicks

I watched the Giants vs Jets, and H.Nicks out performed (6rec. 144yrds 2tds) any Giant WR and dont see how he wont be at least a #3 slot WR if not a #2.

He's listed #5 behind M.Manningham & S.Moss

S.Smith (1-12yrds) and D.Hixon (1-10yrds) just dont seem to be worthy of there #1 and #2 starting status.

Guess i dont understand NFL team politics.

To have him 5th on the depth chart is a joke. He will be starting by game 3 at the latest. He is just so much better than Smith or Hixon...........

Only reason he is #5 right now is he's had issues being on the practice field due to injury. If he can stay healthy, he will rise quickly.

not that im completely dismissing Nicks, but his production came vs the Jets 2nd/3rd string defense so lets not go crazy. If preseason production vs back up players counted for a lot David Clowney would have made the pro bowl

You have to be careful here. These games are not for vets to prove themselves that much. They only threw a few balls to the top Wrs...don't want them hurt...and put the youngters in to see what they have. I do think Nicks moves up eventually...but he won't surplant smith and hixon...not yet anyway.

Career Total Stats:

Hixon: 44rec. 601yrds. YAC: 3.4, 2td (32 games)

Smith: 65rec. 637yrds YAC: 2.4, 1td (21 games)

Yes Hixon & Smith are veterans, but with career stats like these maybe they need to be in there to see what they can do. IMO

He and the other rookie were showcased and tested in this one as they were deciding the fate of Sinorice Moss. I have a link somewhere. Moss is toast, but this game was planned to go to the young guys to see how they'd do. Steve Smtih dropped a perfect bomb!

Hicks DID look very good in this game but the glaring observation for me was the poor performance of the starters.

Smith's 90yard drop was a game breaker and throw was so perfect that Mud could have caught it.

Manning got poor reviews for his performance but I thought he was spot on. Hell, he can't throw it AND catch it.

Poor performance is an understatement
That's my whole point, the Giants so-called starters dont deserve to be when between the two there combined yards etc... have been (almost) reached in one season by some top notch legit WRs.

Giants are in deep trouble with these two wanna be's

Well, considering both were stuck behind Plax and Toomer...it still is a decent career. Hixon didn't even play till Plax was out.
