Free Agent RB DeAngelo Williams expected to be courted when the Lockout ends.

The Denver Broncos have a need at the running back position, and free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams is expected to get a long look, especially with his former head coach John Fox now running the show in Denver.

The Broncos and the Dolphins are considered top candidates for DWills services at this point. The Broncos are making the most noise rumorwise right now. It seems like the team wants to make a play for DWill while Elway seems more content to stick with Knowshon Moreno as the primary RB. It will be interesting to see which way that going when the time to actually get DWill comes around.
The Dolphins also really want DWill and sound prepared to drop Ronnie Brown and/or Ricky Williams if they get him. It will be hard to gauge just how high priced a battle this will become as both teams have RBs to fall back on. Maybe another team sneaks in if the bidding stays low. But if the bidding stays low enough maybe Dwill stays put.

If he can stay healthy, this could be a huge year for DeWill.

I can see Denver, and Miami stepping up to get him. Although Miami did draft an Rb. Still, this kid has got alot left, and he could be a huge help to some team. Actually, I would love to see cincy step up and grab this kid over bringing Benson back. He is more dynamic and could really open up the running game.

I also would not count out the Redskins, as the owner has a tendancy to want the top toys. But that would kill DeWill's value.

very interested in this situation . . . he was tendered, but still waiting to see which fa rules to go by.

DWills is a top-notch RB and should be in demand as FA; who knows how the first season Cam Newton is going to go; but a strong running game can surely help a rookie QB. I say he probably stays in Carolina and has a big season (around 1500 yds.-- 12 TDs) a fantasy gold-mine.
Who knows, with him, Cam and the other guy -- they could run the wish-bone. How about that?

Clayton of ESPN in his mailbag today thinks DeWill is staying put. Says whether its as a RFA or UFA depending on CBA rules, that Carolina may overpay to keep him as they really, really like him.

Only time will tell...

if not in carolina, denver and miami seem likely . . . not a horrible situation in any of them, but he stays in a committee . . . which isn't necessarily a bad thing since he has had some injuries . . . ;)
