1.17 - New England Patriots - Cameron Jordan, DE, California
1.28 - New England Patriots - Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia
2.01 - New England Patriots - Nate Solder, OT, Colorado
And follow this three-some with Danny Watkins, G, Baylor :wow:
I'd literally shit my pants if NE got these four. Since Pouncey didn't fall to NE's 1.28 pick I fully expected to be choosing between Ijalana and Watkins at 2.01 to fill the need at G. But Solder was just too good to pass on. So to still get Watkins at 2.28 would just be ridiculous. At 6'-3", 310lbs plus the following strengths, he's a Mankins clone.
Strengths:
- Strong, natural athlete
- Powerful run blocker
- Reaches second level
- Competitive with a mean streak
- Capable blocker in space
- Plenty of upside; coachable
- Hard worker

Since this is the last round... I had expected to go WR here for NE, but (as before) Watkins was too good to pass on. Plus the likely next 2 WRs off the board are smaller/quick types and NE has enough of those. The next WR on my board (as far as a best fit for NE) can probably be had in the next round, either at 3.10 (the pick from MIN for Moss :lol or 3.28.
