Favre is fined $10,00 for hit

A fine needed to be dealt out for the hit. I don't think such a big deal needed to be made about it, mainly by those in the media that have been looking to rip on Favre whenever possible.

I never saw the hit. Must have been a doozy if a QB his getting a 10,000$ fine for a hit.

It was an illegal crack-back block that took E.Wilson knees out from under him and resulted in Wilson coming up limping.

I think Favre has put a target on his back for the rest of the season by all defenses.

The fine needed to be handed down

Okay, I need to have crack-back block defined for me.

What i saw was Favre go down to the ground and take out Eugene low, granted he hit the knees, but he was fully in front of Wilson, not behind. I thought an illegal block was when someone else has him tied up...and then you hit him low. No one else had Wilson from what I have seen.

Didn't see the play, but I feel very confident in saying that Brett Favre would never intentionally injure a player. I don't thing any team is looking to come after him as a result of this.

That said, if defenses were to make a point of coming after him, that is just great news for the Vikings, because Favre can take advantage of silly crap like that all day.

The Broncos OL were notorious for using the "crack-back block" when Elway played and often would get away with using it.

Maybe this will clarify the definition

3 years ago I would have felt very confident in saying that Brett Favre would NEVER...

A) Alienate the Green Bay Packers

B) Retire and come back 3 times.

C) Embarrass himself by playing beyond his usefulness.

D) Collude with a division rival just for spite.

Dude has a serious case of male menopause going on coupled with severe stardom withdrawals.

I'm not sure there's anything he won't do anymore.

From what I saw, the hit was illegal. A crack-back block is supposed to be above the waist, and that one clearly wasn't, but he did not hit the guy in the knees. I've seen dirtier hits than that one not called.
I think the injury he caused forced the ref to throw the flag.
As to the hit making him more popular in the lockerroom, I would think that his teammates would appreciate him at least making an effort to help get a few extra yards.
