ESPN Fantasy Playoffs for fun

ESPN gridiron playoffs. me and my $ league usually do this at the end of each season for a little more money.
I figured I would also make a free one just for fun if any outlaws had nothing better to do. Is a "salary" type pick situation where you have $50 and you have to pick your players each week. Read the rules if you want to play. For instance though If you picked Matt Ryan the first week for $5.7 and he wins you can keep him at that same price for the next week but if you pick him up after a win he might cost $6. Anyway it's just for fun and i have enjoyed Outlaws company this past year but haven't had the pleasure of playing against any:grin:

Usually, there's the Buffalo Wild Wings playoff challenge to fill our fantasy void, but haven't seen anything this year........:(

I just posted this as a do if you like or not type of deal. This has nothing to do with the "creator/admin" of this site I just started this in case anyone just had nothing better to do and used the name "outlaw" because I posted it on here. I don't want it to seem like I am using the sites name or step on any toes.
The for fun is just friendly competition with what i consider to be other fantasy friends and acquaintances

Rosters must consist of eight (8) players and one (1) team unit (defense/special teams) which fit under the $50m salary cap. The eight (8) players on a team's roster consist of the following positions:


  • 2 Quarterbacks (QB)
  • 2 Running Backs (RB)
  • 2 Wide Receivers (WR)
  • 1 Tight End (TE)
  • 1 Kicker (K)

Roster slots lock individually at the scheduled start time of each player's game. The first lock is the weekend of the NFL Playoffs on Saturday, January 7, 2011 (exact time TBD) and you can change the players around as often as you like up until this time. After the Wild Card Weekend is completed, you will be able to select a new roster for the Divisional Playoffs games. After the Divisional Playoffs are completed, you will again be able to select a new roster if you wish. This is the last roster change period available as the roster you have set for the Conference Championship games is frozen for the remainder of the playoffs (i.e. the Super Bowl as well). The roster change periods are listed below:

  • Period #1 (Wild Card Weekend): Game launch (Dec. 15) until first kickoff of the Wild Card Weekend games (Jan 7 - time TBD)
  • Period #2 (Divisional Playoffs): Shortly after the Wild Card Weekend games are complete until first kickoff of Divisional Playoffs (Jan. 14 - time TBD)
  • Period #3 (Conference Championships): Shortly after the Divisional Playoff games are complete until first kickoff of Conference Championship (Jan. 21 - time TBD). This is the final roster lock.
  • So when you set up your roster for the Conference Championships you are not only trying to get players that will score the most in the Conference championships but also trying to have as many players as possible on your roster, whose teams win the conference championships and actually go to the Super Bowl game

would it be crazy if we tried to create a team that could win the prize?
the people in the group could collaborate on a "group" team as well.
and if that group team wins...

since it's jjtweeks's baby he'd submit a team with his valid info and divvy up the prize as he sees fit.

if by some miracle we win first or second prize

Well we have 8 quality opponents which is better than the alternative(to do nothing)
