A little much for Coop but it's their $$. Word is that they're going to sign Maclin too.
Last I saw, they are only offering a one year deal for Maclin, and they are still far apart on $$. I think that is why they were willing to pay a bit more to keep Cooper. I also think they like his fit in their system.

Like I said it's their $$ but $5M seems a bit high for a #3 WR that few clubs would have wanted around. I do understand that coach likes him and I know that can make a difference. I certainly like him across the field from DeSean.

I think he performed well on the field and did a good job of putting an ugly incident behind him. He is a good fit in the system and $5 mil for a WR2 which is what he has become is not too bad. I do not see Maclin back in Philly unless the market for his services are much lower than he anticipates and takes the comfort of a 1 yr prove it deal in Philly over a similar deal on another team. I think he ends up getting a 3 yr deal from someone.

Was reading somewhere today that Maclin is turning down multi year deals from Philly. It is him that is insisting on a 1 year deal not the Eagles

I figured that. He wants a year to prove he is healthy, in a high gun offense, so his $$ go up at the end of next year. Not a bad risk for him.

Only guaranteed 3.5 Million. Rest is in bonuses, and if he is not on active roster, none of those bonuses for roster gets paid. Nice deal for both.

Let's cut to the chase.

If you owned both in a keeper league, which would you keep?
IF Maclin is totally healthy for pre-camp then him. But, since I don't think he will be, I would probably keep Cooper

I roll the dice and go Maclin. Cooper is safer, but I think Maclin has the superior talent and if he can stay healthy could be huge in that offense.
