The New York Daily News reports that Jets TE Dustin Keller could see his role significantly expand this season with the addition of Santonio Holmes to an already talented receiving corps of Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery. That should create opportunities for Keller to thrive against single coverage. "Teams are scheming to double team guys like Braylon, Santonio and Jerricho every time," Keller said. "That'll leave things wide open for me. It just makes it easier for me because I'll be one-on-one against a safety or linebacker. I've yet to find a linebacker that's that great of a cover guy. I think it definitely could benefit me big time. But time will tell." The report says Jets coach Rex Ryan went so far as to predict Keller could be a Fantasy Football steal this season. "I think he will get more touchdowns," Ryan said. "It should open things up. Playing tight end, it's hard to cover those guys, just like with Dallas Clark in Indianapolis. You have to pay so much attention to those three receivers that sometimes you have to isolate a safety or a linebacker on him and that's to his advantage. I think Dustin can give us the same kind of mismatch. That's what you’re hoping for."
Analysis: Keller scored more touchdowns (three) in three playoff games than he did (two) in 16 regular-season games. He finished last year with 45 catches for 522 yards, but those stats should improve. We like Keller as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE, and he's worth a late-round pick in all leagues. We hope that Ryan's prediction will come true.
