2.40 - Bruce Carter, LB, UNC
3.71 - DeMarco Murray, RB, OU

Not one of these was a bad pick. When Mallet the Moron was still there at 40 overall I got a little ill thinking Jerry would go homer and take him.

Smith kicks Marc Columbo to the curb (not a bad thing) and could grow into a franchise LT.

Carter was first round talent at 40 overall, and gives the Cowboys youth and talent at the ILB spots.

Murray..hmmmmmm 6 ft 213lbs..... Barber..... 5ft 11 220lbs..... Replacement? I think so.

Actually, I think most of the NFC East is having a good draft. Dallas and NY Giants are hitting key needs with excellent talent. Eagles too, but I think there is more to come there ;)

Washington could do well as well, but I am not as high on their picks.

This was actually a pretty solid draft by the division. Im assuming Henery means bye bye Akers

Yeah, as I stated in the draft thread, he was very ticked off they tagged him. Plus there were some other issues on both sides. My guess is he is gone. But he will catch on somewhere and be successful still.

saw this today . . .

"Cowboys | Tashard Choice's spot on roster could be in jeopardy Mon May 2, 12:26 PM

Dallas Cowboys RB Tashard Choice's roster spot could be in jeopardy next season because of the drafting of RB DeMarco Murray.

fbg view: Choice could be traded as he's looked good in limited duty during his young career. Murray has a nice blend of size/speed and could hold up as a feature back if asked to. "

i was thinking marion barber too when they drafted murray . . . but, who knows . . . went to the link to the story and it's from espn's dallas team report . . .

"4. Jones wouldn't say which players are on the bubble to get let go once the league year starts, but we have an idea: Colombo, Marion Barber, Roy Williams, Leonard Davis and Choice. Yes, with the drafting of Demarco Murray, Choice might be one of the final cuts before the start of the 2011 season. Davis most likely will stay but the team is building its depth along the offensive line, and that's a wakeup call for Davis."

speculation, but just thought i'd throw this in here . . . caught my attention because i was able to add choice in my keeper league late in the season . . . would be cool to see him traded/picked up for a starting role

Not surprised by the draft picks, seems like every year people say he drafted pretty well.

The problem is changing the management setup to where we have a head coach that has his own staff and control over the entire coaching process of the team. Maybe we have one now that will step up and take control and quietly tell Jerry to shut up and keep out of his business.
