Dalton and Mallet....where they going to land

Well after the fury of the first 12 picks, many thought Dalton or Mallet would fall last night as well, but here we are heading to the 2nd with both on the board. I think many are looking at Buffalo and Cincinnati at 2.2 & 2.3 as possible landing spots. I love what Dalton can do and really will LOVE to see Cincinnati get him. In fact, I'd be on the phone with NE all day today to make it happen. Mallet on the other hand.....shoot me....please do not let him end up in Cincy!

I hope, beyond hope Cincy takes a flyer on Mallett. They are known to live with some off-field bs, due to talent. However, I won't be surprised if they go Dalton in the 2nd instead due to WC offense.

To me it will depend on what Buffalo does. Buffalo may snag Dalton first.

You think Mallett is a good pick for them or you just want to see the train wreck that he will be in Cincy???

I will PUKE if Cincy takes Mallett...he is a block head.....Ryan Leaf without the hype.....big arm, nothing else.

I like Mallet to Cincy, a lot. I still think that Washington wants him though.

Man, I hope not. Impossible to picture Shanahan drafting a statue like Mallet.

If Buffalo takes Dalton and Cincy takes Mallet, there wouldn't need to be a change in offensive philosophy. Then maybe the kid from Nevada goes to DC.

I disagree, I think he's Shanny's kinda guy. He fell in love with Cutler's arm, I think he falls in love with Mallet's. And just because Mallet is slow, he feels pressure better than any QB in this draft. What he does is step up in the pocket and make accurate throws. That's an attribute that almost every coach yells at QBs for because they don't do that. He's the most NFL ready QB in this draft.

I would much rather have Dalton or Kaepernick lead my team. Mallet might be okay but give me mobility in the new NFL. Not everyone is a Brady or a Manning. They beat your agressiveness with thier brain and arm. Mallet has the arm part under control.

Kaepernick? Fact is, he's not NFL starter. I don't care what anybody has to say about his stats; I've seen enough film to tell you that Colin Kaepernick is not an NFL starter. Dalton could pull it off, but he needs a lot of help, preferably a really, really good defense. If he doesn't have the best D in the nation, he will not win. The only guy past Mallet in the 2nd round that I think could translate, with time and good coaching, into a decent starter, is Ricky Stanzi.

I guess the NFL guys don't know football then? I feel Stanzi translates into the 4th best QB in this draft. The team that waits for him gets a gem.

Word is that SF is trying to trade for NEs 33 pick. I assume they would either want a QB (Dalton or Stanzi since I don't claim to know crap about either) or they want to take a flyer on Bowers knee not being a problem. If Bowers can play, it would be a great move assuming they don't give up the farm to get him.

 All the crap on him has changed day in and day out. Now supposedly they have proof he failed a drug test.....anyone honestly think it takes this long for that to be confirmed?!?!? He is the best Qb in this draft, bar none. Whoever takes the shot will not regret it.

I happen to feel Dalton will fail, miserably. He won't get away with his bad decisions in the NFL.

I wonder if some day NE actually makes a pick of their own dunno: All they do is trade and get more picks, so they can trade and get more picks.....

Kind of how I feel. Hard to criticize because of their success, but it seems to me that adding an impact player such as Julio Jones by moving up instead of down would benefit them. At some point you have to play to win now instead of looking down the road. Window of opportunity with Brady won't last forever.

I am a VERY happy guy right now!!! Dalton is a tough kid that makes smart decisions. Kid knows how to win.
