Colts WR Reggie Wayne....????

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent WR Reggie Wayne said he thinks he can help the team next season even if they are rebuilding because it helps to have some of the older players around the team. Wayne said he could also help the team with his play.

Interesting little news piece, don't know everything he said or in what context. Interesting, on that he is talking about his value to the Colts as a team leader. Oh, and I could help as a WR too.

It seems to me that Reggie has been in slow decline mode for few years. This last year was hard to get a read on because Peyton was gone so the results were skewed. But, in recent years I haven't really had Reggie on redraft league draft radar just because he was a WR going way higher than I would invest in. It wouldn't surprise me very much if the Colts let him move on. But where does your Fantasy Radar have him now?

Maybe he's the next veteran receiver to get the Ravens "over the hump". Seems to be an annual exercise for them.

A nice second- fiddle for the Bengals maybe to draw some heat away from AJ Green perhaps. It's tough to call though as it seems to me that he doesn't rate Top WR status on many teams now.

When you're talking millions of dollars I'm sure teams are going to wonder how much success was him and how much had to do with Manning throwing to him.

Lol, Thats why I keep mentioning second fiddle because he may have to take a pay cut to play on many teams right now.

I have noticed the slow decline and thought that Garcon would take over for Wayne as he took over for Harrison. But with all the drops this year, I'm not sure Garcon is a true replacement.

I can't believe it was just me that heard between the lines what Reggie Wayne said at the start of the season.

How was Wayne in a steady decline?
In 2010 he had the most catches in his career and the second most yards!
In spite of Garcon and Collie.

Dude had almost a grand in yardage in a season that started with Collins walking in from Wal-Mart two hours before the team bus left for the stadium.

Wayne is the odd-man out here, but has extended an olive branch to his highness Peyton Manning and the new regime.
If the Colts are going to get back to basics and play some Defense, the possession receiver (Reggie) that style requires is already in place.
