If you thought coaching an often-hated college football powerhouse and then working for "America's Team" was a challenge, Jimmy Johnson has gone one better.

Johnson, 67, the former coach at the University of Miami and the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, is a contestant on the CBS reality show "Survivor: Nicaragua" this fall, a source close to Johnson told the Dallas Morning News.

No way he makes it very far. Once he realizes that hair spray doesn't count as essential survival gear, he's done!

guess he tried a couple seasons ago but failed a physical. So he went out and lost some weight just to do this. Should be interesting.

If this report is true, I wonder if Survivor will be running Jimmy Johnson's latest late night commercial? It is for a male enhancement product called "Extenze". Survivor might, since in the ad Jimmy says he uses this product himself.

OMG It's True - Jimmy Johnson will be on Survivor this season!

Jeff Probst just appeared on The Early Show and after a couple attempts, Jimmy Johnson, along with some other "mature" people will be on Survivor, this season. He tried out one year and did not make it, last year he tried out and they found a heart issue, but this year he's in. Probst said they wanted to see how young contestants vs. more mature contestants plays out. It will be the physical abilities of the youth vs. the mature life experiences of the older contestants. :rolllaugh:

I spent a bit of time thinking about where to place it myself. I leaned away from this board but past history here seemed to show that since he was once NFL and is still on a NFL pregame show that it should go here.
