If you need a refresher on the rules for the series or a run down of previous match-ups? Here is the rules and history thread:
"Close Calls 2010" - A Sports Outlaw Exclusive
Remember, this is based on re-draft leagues and non ppr scoring.

Today's Match-up:
DeAngelo Williams vs Steven Jackson

Last Year's Stats:
DeAngelo Williams - 13 gms - 1,117 ru yds - 7 ru TD's - 29 rec - 252 rec yds - 0 rec TD
Steven Jackson - 15 gms - 1,416 ru yds - 4 ru TD's - 51 rec - 322 yds - 1 rec TD's

Today's match-up is between two RB's who have their share of question marks, but also have imense talent and the upside to match their talent. So which one is worth the pick? That is the question in today's close call!

I don't like either of them as players that would fit on a team I'd build unless they slid big time, but I can easily select SJax over DeWill due to the fact that DeWill would have to split time, half the time, with Stewart. The other half of the time Stewart will be hurt.

Jackson is an uber talent and has matured into an NFL player. If his back holds out he's a top 10 RB for a few of more years.

I'm going SJax. He is the only offsensive threat the Rams have and doesn't have to split carries. I don't like 2 things about Jackson though; his injury prone status and his low TD production. But I think this year, he will increase the TD production. And he did play 15 games last year which is a very good sign.

jackson being the only offensive threat actually keeps me away from him and him not having a legit # 2 RB makes his injury prone tag even worse.

This is very close for me. I like both of these backs from a talent standpoint. Jackson just is one such a bad team that his scoring opps are very limited. He takes such a pounding that it's hard to expect him to carry the entire team by himself. With Williams, he has help in Stewart to keep him fresh and despite the shared work load, they have proved 2 years in a row that they can both be valuable. Before his late season injury DWill was the #6 RB, I see no reason he can't do something similiar this year if heathy. I'll lean his way slightly at this point.

I'm going with the minority here as well. I plain out expect DeWill to have better opportunities than Jackson and to do more with them over the course of the season.

I went DWill here, only because I'm expecting him to participate the whole season. That happens, he may not post as many yards as Jax, but he'll definitely find the endzone more.

In PPR this isnt close, SJ all the way. Given this format is non PPR its closer, but Im still going with Jackson.

SJax will see maybe 2 tough defenses this season. He needs to stay healthy.
Like MJD, SJAX is the show and will be seeing all the work.

Im going with DWill. SJax is by far and away the most all around talented RB in the NFL, but Dwill has better opportunity and is in a contratct seaon in which you know he wont be coming back to Carolina. I feel like Carolina will run the wheels off DWill and sorta save their "Franchise RB" in JStu for next season.
