Battle to be the first TE off the board, who ya got and why?

Jimmy Graham, TE, NO vs Rob Gronkowski, TE, NE
 
I take Graham. Three years of organized football in his entire life should mean room for improvement. He'll become more of a red zone target than last year too.
 
Both come in with questions IMO. Defenses tend to figure players out in their second year and the pats added 4 other tes. Maybe Grahams inexperience will start to show now that hes the number one receiving threat. I would like them in the third but they will be gone by mid to late second.
 
Gotta go with Graham.

There's no guarantee that Belli will feature TE's again this year.

This could be the year of the RB in NE.

As far as this, I agree, both are great, both IMO are Safe picks, both will likely live upto their 2nd rd grade.......BUT, if I had to pick one, it would be Graham.

It was obviously a facetious comment considering the current Pats RB stable.

Clearly it was intended to remind the readers of the unpredictability of a Belichek offensive scheme.

And his scheme's while ever changing are not something i really consider unpredictable. Find a mismatch in the passing game and exploit it until he is forced to look elsewhere. This is why I don't see Gronk loosing much this year. He's an insane redzone target and no one has solved the puzzle yet. Just b/e I'm going Graham, doesn't mean that I don't think Gronk is going to be a stud once again.

But these threads are not about winning, it's about getting as many ideas on these players as possible, so if you think the Pats are going to focus elsewhere, by all means, get it out here for us all to discuss. I just don't see where they are going to focus on that will make that big of a difference from last year to this year. That is the biggest value of these threads IMO.

Graham a million times over. This dude's ceiling is sky high. He's fighting with Lance Moore and Colston for receptions. Gronk is competing with Welker, Hernandez, and Lloyd.

Forget about Sproles who caught 86 passes last year?
 
I say Graham, and I say that because I think the Saints play with a chip on their shoulder. I also think that Hernandez takes some away from Gronk, along with the better Wr situation they have with Lloyd to pair with Welker.

So Graham.
 
I think Gronk is a powder keg fixin to blow. The Pats organization has already asked him to dial it back and he decided to be on a reality show. I put my money on Hernandez out prducing Gronk this year, especially in ppr formats.
 
Graham. I think he is likely to emerge as the top TE this coming season. I suspect we see him putting up 110 receptions, maybe 1,400 yds and 12-14 TD's, Gronk would be only slightly behind that IMHO, maybe 105 receptions, 950 yds, 9 TD's

How many of those receptions were thrown 10 yds down field though? Sproles is getting all the screens, dump downs, and plays designed for him. Only plays that get the ball to receivers, Sproles only gets it when everyone is either covered or Sproles slips free.

If Graham and Sproles are both open, Graham is going to get the ball thrown his way more often than Sproles
