WOW! Great pick up by the Chiefs, IMO. Matt Cassel, Dwayne Bowe, Chris Chambers, Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones! ... Look out AFC West.

Nice , very nice! If they use Charles enough in a tandem they could keep Jones well under 200 carries.

Nice scoop, gruntbusters!

This is a fantastic move for the Chiefs and will give the Chargers a run for there money and make the AFC West competitive

Kent Babb, of The Kansas City Star, speculated on Twitter that he could see a 65/35 split of touches between Kansas City Chiefs RBs Jamaal Charles and newly signed Thomas Jones. Babb said what many didn't see last year was how beaten up Charles was by the end of the season, noting Charles was "on fumes" by the end of the year.

A 1400 yard rusher gets 35 percent of the carries? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Great team signing. They will make a nice tandom. Fantasy wise, big downgrades for both. Charles would still be a nice #2 back, but don't see him going as a #1 now..................:stooges:

Great scoop RC!

Nice compliment to Charles, yet he's won't have much more success than Larry did behind that O-Line.

That 65/35 seems very realistic. They know Charles is their moneyman after what he showed last season, and I have a strong feeling this was more a case of keeping Jones away from SD than the fact that they just couldn't live without him.
Charles will get his 1k yards rushing and a handful of receptions and I wouldn't downgrade him all that far. Maybe lower-tier RB1 as opposed to 1st round fantasy pick.
Jones becomes rosterable as a handcuff, but that's as far as I'd go unless something solid develops in training camp.

Yep and it showed too. The last four games Charles went 20/143/1TD, 25/154/1TD, 24/102/0TD, and 25/259/2TD. Holy shit, what will the kid do when he's healthy and running on a full tank. A 65/35 split may be ok, but I sure wouldn't give Charles less than that.

In all fairness it should be noted the games were against Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Denver. An accumulative 29-35 with Cincy being the only opponent above .500

I agree, good signing for the Chiefs.

On the other hand though...

This is going to get ugly. Nothing like going from one of the best offensive lines in football to one of the worst to make an aged RB look extremely pedestrian.

Fantasy football fans, don't get your hopes up.

Fair enough on the competition, however, Charles still did all that "running on fumes" accoding to Babb, and with no OLine or significant passing threat.

TJ has produced behind some pretty awful lines early on. If JC can produce with that line I have little doubt Jones will as well.

You know.....the line wasn't all that bad. Take a look at Charles' numbers. Add to that the very good chance they could snag a OT this first round or second round in this draft to improve more.
