Chiefs Give WR Chris Chambers 3 Year Deal

Chambers and the team agreed to a three-year deal Monday. Chris Chambers could make as much as $15 million over the life of the contract. He is guaranteed a minimum of $5.9 million. After eight catches in seven games with the Chargers last season, Chambers was waived at midseason and picked up by the Chiefs. He racked up 608 yards and four touchdowns with the Chiefs in the last nine games of the season.

Death nel for his career then. His history is he performs the first year for a team, then once he gets a contract he disappears. Buyer beware here......

Respectfully, not true. Chambers has always been wildly inconsistent, but it has nothing to do with his contract. He's never been a money guy.

For KC I think this is a solid move. Don't expect him to be a fantasy stud but solid back up/WR #3 - The benefit is a proven veteran to help influence the younger players and balance the offense.

I would agree here. Not consistent, but not a bad player nonetheless. In Miam and San Diego, he'd start getting touchdowns out of nowhere and I found in most cases, it's because he became an option because others were covered or they went for broke because the offence wasn't working so let's just give him a shot. He's got talent, I just don't he';d used enough to prove it.

Considering KCs depth at WR, this is a good move. He played very well in the 2nd half of 2009, and will always be a nice option when playing against the Chargers. The chip on the shoulder is a nice motivator.

You know, I got so used to watching Chambers that I took for granted what a freak he was. He's always been able to make the most ridiculous catches and he was a sure target for a fade despite not being very tall, but the one area where he suffered was that he would sometimes drop easy passes and he lost his aggression going over the middle the one time he got destroyed by a safety. I honestly believe he would've measured up with the greats if the Fins had taken Drew Brees like they should have.
