KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel left the field favoring his left leg after being sacked on the third play of Kansas City's game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night.

Cassel was sacked by Brandon Mebane on the first passing play. He appeared to have a problem with his left leg but came off the field unassisted before being replaced by Tyler Thigpen. A team spokesman said Cassel's return was questionable.

ESPNews reports X-rays on Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel (knee) were negative. There is no timetable on how much time, if any, that he may miss.

Kansas City Chiefs backup QB Tyler Thigpen was 8-of-15 for 56 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions Saturday, Aug. 29, after replacing injured QB Matt Cassel (knee) in the lineup. Thigpen is reportedly battling Brodie Croyle for the #2 spot and was the center of some trade rumors earlier in the week with the Jags.

Curious now if the Chiefs still deal thigpen or not. I know right now they are favoring Croyle more.

I hear the trade rumors to the Jags are still alive and well.

NO..........That is a bad rumor. Jax has had enough loser QBs to last a franchise lifetime.

Hmmm......might need to adjust KC total wins next year now.

Was thinking the same thing....ohh....wait....I already had them under .500

Nevermind.........

I think i gave them 6-7 wins , can't remember now. Now KC and the Raiders might be fighting for last place. And add in Denvers qb is hurting, this division is really starting to look like it is over before it starts. SD is looking really good now to repeating as division champs and with no real compitition to challenge them.
